the academic programs are fantastic! there are soo many extracurricular activities available for the children. the level of parent involvement, however, is very low.

In addition to providing a good general quality education, having a good music program, McCaskey offers not only a wide array of AP classes but also the challenging IB (International Baccalaureate) program. However, McCaskey's greatest asset is its diversity--going to McCaskey, students learn to interact with people from different races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. With first-generation immigrants, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Cambodian being spoken in the halls, as well as an older, multi-generational minority population and a tremendous array of multicultural clubs and activities, McCaskey truly has something that no white suburban public or private school could ever offer. Going to McCaskey will teach someone the value of multiculturalism and diversity in a hands-on way, and this knowledge is absolutely priceless!
