The staff at Northwest is totally dedicated to the achievement of the students. Training in current educational strategies cannot be passed by any district in the county. Our diverse population gives our students an opportunity to become exposed to other cultures and promotes acceptance of all groups. Come visit and see our beautiful children and celebrate their learning with us.

This school used to be a school where the administration tried to meet every child's needs that attended the school. There have been many changes through the years with the school reflecting the many changes of the city. The school uses the 'No child left behind' program, but it seems to me that with this program more children are being left behind. Because this program is so time consuming, there is not time for other things such as geography or indepth studies of the other subjects that apparently used to be taught. In addition, the increase in other than English speaking children attending the school seems to have caused problems for nearly everyone. The teachers cannot communicate with these children because they don't speak their language so I've heard they've tried a type of sign language, like point and say sock, and the children seem to have trouble learning.

The school has areas to work on but I have seen improvement. I think the teachers at this school are overwhelmed the amount of students and the needs of some of the students

This school has great teachers, and they are very dynamic. However, safety and discipline issues are my biggest concerns.
