INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This is my sons first year here and so far I am very impressed. He is learning everything I want him to learn about, and I can see him flourishing. His teachers and the principal really love him and want whats best for him. I am very pleased with everything and everyone so far. I am sending the paperwork in today to enroll him next year.

My daughter has attended Hope for the past two years in their pre-school program. I cannot rave about it enough. Her teachers are fantastic. Their curriculum is impressive and they really work with the children in getting them where they need to be in starting their grade school education. It is definitely a family-oriented type atmosphere and they really put children first and the emphasis is on them, where it should be. We have not had one negative experience with Hope. Definitely check them out on your list of schools!

My son is in the preschool program and we all just love it! Everyone knows him by name even though he's only there twice a week and his teacher, although new, is fantastic!

I Love hope. I started my child there last year in the 3 year old class boy did I see a difference in her. When she went to daycare I would drop her off she was just another kid there no special treatment and she would cry. Now she loves school , she looks forward to going. All the teachers and staff know her by name she gets a nice greeting in the morning. She is learing alot and her teacher I can't say enough about her she is just wonderful she has had the same techer for 2 yrs now and we just love her. The sad part and down fall is the cost sad to say but because of the cost I can not afford to send her next year, and we will truly miss hope.

Our daughter started attending Hope in Kindergarten for the 2006/2007 school year. It was a wonderful year. She is now in Mrs. Gibbon's First Grade class and loves this year just as much. She thrived under Mrs. Marks and looked forward to going to school every day. Mrs. Marks is an excellent teacher with a great balance of love and discipline. We loved how she encouraged the children to take responsibility in many small ways to prepare them for greater responsibilities in the future. Each child had his or her own desk which contributed to the learning atmosphere. Our child was reading long before the end of the year. This year in First Grade with Mrs. Gibbon has been a happy continuation from last year. Mrs. Gibbon challenges the students to do their best and gives plenty of encouragement. We love Hope!

Hope is everything a parent would want in a school. It is a close-knit environment...where everyone knows each other. This helps with the added security that your child is always looked out for-both educationally and emotionally. The teachers give their whole heart and soul into making sure the students learn what is being instilled in them. Hope has all the benefits that other schools have, and then some...Computer lab, Chapel, Band, Outdoor education, Hot Lunch (homemade on site), Advanced curriculum, Christian education, smaller classes, caring teachers and staff, etc. There are many more wonderful reasons to enroll a child at Hope, but I don't want to give everything away. Inquire about Hope and find your own reasons to find happiness in your child's education!

Our child is no longer a student at Hope. We thought long and hard before changing schools because of the roots established. We were satisfied with what education the students were receiving, however were dissatisfied with what they were not. I also feel the behavior of a few of the boys throughout the years was tolerated because of the low enrollment. Tuition was very high for what we were receiving. Combined classes, no library, limited computers etc.. The principal's leadership is lacking although he is a nice man. On a positive note, my child was very comfortable at Hope. Great extended care providers, wonderful and dedicated lunch lady. ( you know who you are!)and great Christian values.

A poor school: My child had a sad kindergarten yr here in hope.Poor leadership and management...Do more research before you send your child to hope if you do care about him or her...A school is not only a physical place to stay, but a place to affect the whole life of your child!

Well, U attended hope from 4th to 7th grade, failing 7th. They had great teachers, but they tended to baby myself and other students. When I switched to public school, I was amazed at what I was missing out on, both curriculum and activity wise.

Both of my girls attended Hope Lutheran and graduated in the 8th grade. They appreciated the small class sizes and individual attention they recieved. They have become confident teenagers and have gone on to honors courses in High Schooland will continue in College. They had wonderful Bible instruction and have continued to grow stronger in their faith in Christ. I Love Hope Lutheran Christian School.

We visited many schools and choose Hope, because it's a safe, caring and warm enviroment. The children are nurtured an the education both academic and religious are well rounded and geared to each childs ability. It's a refined and stable enviroment for children and they are expected to act as ladies and gentleman. The Principal , pastor and staff are wonderful caring people.

My child attended Hope for 2 years. Kindergarten & 1st. We were there 2001/2002 & 2002/2003 We decided to pull our children because Hope was not providing the education and environment that warranted the tuition. We were alarmed at the potential decline and wanted our children to be in a stable school where they could flourish for K-8. We spent almost 4000.00 a year no lunch room, no library, no computer lab, and apparently no phonics curriculum.

My child attended Hope Lutheran School for 8 years. The experience there was wonderful. I believe that some of the reviewers are not sending their children to this school for the right reasons. The curriculum is adequate (not above or below what others are learning). I sent my child to this school mostly because I wanted there to be a Christian environment. I truly believe that the troubles at Hope now are because somewhere along the line the focus has left and God's plan is being pushed aside. My child learned a lot at Hope, but the most important thing to me is the love of Jesus Christ and reflecting that love onto others. Pray for the school and teachers, that the Lord will make clear HIS plan to them, that somehow along the way has been clouded. My ratings are based on only the last 2 years my child was at Hope.

I am a parent of a student in her fifth year at Hope. Unfortunately, my satisfaction level has dropped each year as my daughter is not receiving the level of education I expect from this school. My wife and I chose Hope because the public schools in our district are abysmal; our limited budget has placed most private schools well out of reach, but Hope's tuition is just within our limits. We have found our daughter's teachers to be short on knowledge as well as unfriendly and unapproachable. The school is in an obvious state of decline and I fear that this school may not have much future if the number of students continues to rapidly decline.

As a former teacher and a parent of a student I would like to say that Hope Lutheran School has a lot to offer a child not only in the education but also in the spirit walk of a child. Hope Lutheran School is not only a school but also a family. Some of the people who work there work very hard and go over and above to make you feel welcome.Hope is a real solid foundation for a child start in life and there education. The tuition is high but you get what you pay for, and I think I would pay a little more to get what I want for my child.

I have been very satisfied with the school. I feel the school is very warm and friendly. My children excel at the school in academics and in their Christian education. They have learned how a Christian should conduct themselves. this school is by far one of the best! I have been very happy here. The school loves to have parent volunteers. The more you want to participate in your childrens school, the more you and your child get out of it. Check out the school and decide for yourself.

Please visit the school and Do draw off of your own experience. Aside from a handful of 'decent' teachers and the new pastor the jury's out on the educational factors. Most of the reviews that are 'glowing' are either from faculty, staff or board members which are just about the only ones who has their children left in the school. It's a shame! Hope aestically is a nice comfortable clean school. I too have found unless you're part of the 'click' you and your children aren't too readily accepted. And to be clear it is certainly true that more than half of faculty and students aren't returning. The classes are being 'blended' together instead of the schools' original intent to hire new teachers due to the declining population of students. We were disappointed and have decided for our child to attend another christian school.

Delightful school overall! They have a great principal that is starting his 2nd year there. Several teachers & staff members have been there for 5+ years. I am bothered that someone would call their experience at Hope 'disastrous'. It is not an accurate depiction of the school. The staff at the building truly care for the children that are there. They always have kind words and smiles for the kids. The tuition is not cheap, but neither is the experience. They offer a program for applying for tuition assistance. The enviroment is far from sterile and cold. The staff has not abandoned the school-one of our teachers took another call after 19 years of being at Hope. More than '65%' of the students are returning also. Please do not use these reviews to make your decision on Hope. Please go there, meet the staff and choose for yourself.

Our family's experience at Hope was DISASTROUS! We came from another school with much better discipline, ethics and conduct. My 5th grade learned the same thing he had in 4th grade in the previous school and my 3rd grader was constatntly tormented by an older student of which the school did NOTHING about. Half of the staff has abandoned the school and 65% of the students aren't returning; nothing to do with the cost of tuition everything with the curriculum (or lack thereof). The environment isn't inviting instead it's rather cold and sterile. Stay away! No matter what your public school system is you're better off there! I'm picking up another job to go back to where we came from.

As parents of Hope students we are overwhelmingly satisfied with the academics and the Christian environment that Hope offers our 2 children. The faculty at Hope is awesome! They are Christian educators who truly practice what they preach, who care about every aspect of a child's development. After a disappointing experience at our previous elementary school, we are thankful that we found Hope. Our children are enthusiastic about learning again.

Although I think the tuition is very high we are satisfied with Hope and the education our child is getting. The only thing that is keeping our child in the school is the roots that have been established. Otherwise we would have enrolled our child in another school with lower tuition. We've spoken to parents with children in other christian schools that are pleased with the education their children are getting. Tuition in about half the cost. Hope enrollment is down. I'm sure the cost is the reason.

As a former student of Hope Lutheran (I am now a sophmore in college) I have had a chance to see what my education at this establishment has done for me. I am a stronger person in christ, even through my high school experiences I held onto what was taught to me at Hope Lutheran. I also grew as an individual. If I start a family in the future, I plan on my children attending Hope Lutheran. So yes, I would recomend it to anybody, and you don't have to be lutheran to go here. I enjoyed how people of different creeds attended.

Hope is a comfortable and loving, yet well disciplined school where all learning is centered around God. It has a truly old-fashioned feel, a place where I know my child is loved. My daughter is blossoming as a confident and independent individual under the guidance of her teachers and with the acceptance of her peers.
