Great improvement over the past few years! The kids are really starting to make a difference in the community that they live in. The staff really trying to incorporate that family feeling for the students.

I appreciate the parents comments about West Shore. As a teacher, and a parent of two Red Land graduates, I can tell you that the staff at Red Land does their absolute best and gives 100% for the kids who attend. As far as the 80-minute block goes, it may not be a favorite of everyone, but it allows teachers the ability to not only teach the lesson, but gives students the opportunity to begin homework and ask questions so they aren't 'lost' when they get home. Students--we truly care about you and your education; however, high school is what you make of it. Instead of complaining about the fact that teachers aren't 'entertaining' you, try participating more in class. When you sit there and don't say anything productive, of course you are going to get bored. High school is what YOU make of it.

So I attend red land right now. Red land isn't a bad school, just a cheap school. We spend our money on dances and athletics and whatever else for the popular children, but when it comes to school work, we run out of books that are ripped and torn, we don't have enough paper to provide those less fortunate. Im not saying that my time here isn't well spent, I would just like some teachers who didn't make me snore. I mean when you make a kid sit there for 80 min. And just listen to you blab about stuff we need to learn about, but don't care about because teachers dont attempt to make it interesting were going to fall asleep in your class. Maybe we should spend a little less time yelling at our students & more time encouraging them.

My son started with WSSD 2 yrs ago in 7th grade. He is now a sophmore, attending vo-tech for criminal justice and involved with the JROTC program. The staff is great and always there to answer my concerns and questions. I know my son is getting the best education possble, and he is motivated to best the best student he can be due to the postive attitudes of all his teachers and also his swimming coach (coach Beck) WSSD is a wonderful choice of schools. We looked long and hard before our transfer here. The school is what determined our final decision. We have heard nothing but GOOD, and I'm glad we made the decision we did. THANK YOU WSSD for being a part of our sons life, and future.
