I have a preschool child in this school, I have No idea what they are learning in the classroom. The communication is very poor, there were some issues in the classroom and didn't hear about them for sometime, then it was finally brough to my attention. This is a new program this year, brand new teacher...jury is still out on this one.
My children have attended Holy Saviour St. John Fisher school since first grade and it has been a wonderful experience. The curriculum is challenging and the follow through is shown in the assessments. Homework is enforced and parent/teacher involvement is obvious and encouraged. The school enforces good behavior and discipline. My children are in small group sizes and have many friends with diverse backgrounds. There are plenty of extracurricular activities to join and the home and school provides a variety of fun filled events for the students and families. Holy Saviour St. John Fisher school is very welcoming and a pleasant environment for a child to grow up in.
I made the huge MISTAKE of putting my child into this school. She was a new student going into the 2nd grade. To sum up how bad it was, I pulled my child out of the school with only 3 months left of the year. There were multiple issues with the children hitting and verbally abusing eachother. I went to the principle multiple times who ignored the problem. I assume she thought it would go away if she acted like the problem did not exist. I believe the principle is completelt unfit to run a school. The teacher sent home letter after letter begging parents to help control their children but apparently that did not help. After my child was assaulted for the fourth time at school and nothing was done about it, I pulled her out of the school. The principle then told the class that my child couldn't hang
I am a Grandmother who would recommend any parent grandparents or guardian who is not satisfied their child s education to consider Holy Saviour / St. John Fisher School. Holy Savior may seem small compared to other schools, but their hearts are bigger with teachers and administration who all work as a team to help educate our children. They have children attending from different districts too. Therefore, that says it all! Come and see for yourself.
We have sent our son here for three years and love it.....everyone is so friendly and really care about all the children
As a parent of two kids at HS/SJF. It is a warm, comforting feeling that you know your childern are safe. Besides math, reading, spelling and history they also learn how to respect and treat people with kindness and not to judge others. keep up the great work. I wish the school was pre-k to 12th, not stopping at 8th grade. whoo-hoo for HS-SJF
Our last child is going to graduate this year. We are going to miss the school. The faculty & Mrs. Worrilow (principal) are so caring towards the parents & the children. They really want your children to excel. All our other children went on to college prep schools with scholarships and no real hardships adjusting. It was the best decision we had made for our children!
This school is all about community. From the faculty to the parents, Holy Saviour / St John Fisher cannot be beat for the education our children are receiving. The new principal, Mrs. Worrilow, is actually increasing enrollment in a time where many non-public schools are hurting. We have wireless capability throughout the school, a children's choir, the CYO sports program, and a nice musical program. So stop by and see what we're all about!
A warm and welcoming place where the children are truly cared about. An excellent curriculum in comparison to the local public school system-real learning goes on in the classrooms! The students are taught respect-for each other and toward the teachers and administration. It is a GEM that I am glad to have found.
great full day kindergarten. frustrated with progress of 1st grade
