Maytown Elementary School

This school is great...unless you ask them to provide additional learning support for your child. The principal is unprofessional and uninformed with regard to state policies regarding independent learning assessments to identify potential learning disabilities. My requests for additional learning support were ignored until 'testing' supported my request 3 months later. 61% proficiency in basic math was an acceptable level for my child and used mutiple times as justification to rebuff my requests for testing and assistance. We were planning to leave the district in 3 to 5 years but will be expediting this move so we can get our daughter the help that she needs without push back from administration.

I have 2 children who have attended this school and it saddens me to have to leave Maytown behind due to us relocating. The teachers, staff, and principal are wonderful and very supportive. It's a great feeling to know they all truly care about the kids academically and socially! Maytown offers a wide variety of music programs, art, and a lot of sports! They have monthly assemblies to recognize each child's skills and improvements, as well as working on creating character. The level of parent involvement is incredible! Thank you for providing such great memories!
