My son went to Burkett for 2 years when the district changed and he had to move. We miss it. The principal is excellent. He introduced himself to all of the students by bringing them into his office individually! My son's K and 1st teachers were both very good. I felt he learned an adequate amount. Sadly, the district changed this year and not only moved the schools around but changed to a "no grading" system that has really hurt the children. While Burkett hasn't changed to this grading system yet, they will next year. It is a shame. As for the entire school district, it is very corrupt and run terribly. Google it and you will find articles to back that up.

My oldest son started Kindergarten this year and I have been very impressed with the whole experience so far. They have the traditional learning areas but are supplemented by health class, spanish class, computer lab, music and art. I am pleased with the curriculum and the school seems to be very community oriented.
