This school has a very dedicated staff!
I couldn't be happier with sto-rox elementry school! This is my sons first year (kindergarten) and the teachers and staff are wonderful!
This is the most disorganized school I know. The principal is poor and absent all the time. What a joke! The kids can't read and the teachers are really bad.
I always felt my children did well at this school district until this year. The middle school lacks organization!I sure feel sorry for all the 5 graders this year with all the changes.Good luck teachers!POOR CHILDREN!yeh right no child left behind!
What a sad lack of involvement from the central office administration. An accountant trouble-shoots problems, instead of an involved superintendent, and building leadership is sketchy. Children are not well-served here.
Very poor reading and math training. Pittsburgh Business Times ranks this school 103 out of 105 schools in the County. Very little academic rigor for children and weak leadership.
Many of the parents send their children to any other school but Sto-Rox Elementary because the staff is not well-trained. The teachers seem to loaf around a lot and there is not a strong focus on kids here.
The Phys Ed, sports and playground activities are very poor. There are no extra activities for energetic children.
The adults in this school (security) are mean tot he kids and talk about their families and homes. The lack of privacy for children is horrible. My child is promised privacy and respect at the charter school (Propel) where he will go in Spetember, 2009. Thank God he got in.
No one in the school talks about how to help kids. The school is run over by bad politics and power struggles. The focus on children is poor and egos run wild here.
