This is the BEST school anyone could send their child to. Outstanding teachers, great motivators to their students. Great parent/teacher interaction. Unmatched academically. My daughter is in 2nd grade and looking at the possibility of having to move, I only hope a new school district could compare to this one. She loves it here and I know my other children would too.

Love, love, love Pleasant Valley! I've had three children go through the school and am looking forward to my youngest daughter starting next year. The teachers and principal are very involved and hands on with the students and their families. We could not have made a better decision when we moved into the district eight years ago.

This a wonerful small school set in a residential area. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Teachers really set 'the bar' high for student sucess. The pricipal is hands on and really does know each child in her school. The school incorporates high school students as helpers in the class room, the younger students thrive on this interaction. The PTA is a great support in the school and many many different extracurrical activties ranging from dance, art to science.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
