Outstanding school. We transferred here, and are impressed. Each of our children are getting the attention and support they need to thrive and succeed academically. The classroom and programs are enriching, the teachers are attentive to needs, and possess great parent communication skills. The principal is helpful, and the social program is top notch, utilyzing positive psychology and zero tolerance for bullying. Overall, kids recieve a high quality education at Glenwood.

We moved from NJ to MI and now to PA. This is no doubt the bests school of the bunch. The teacher-parent communication is outstanding, the children are challenged, and they handle challenges very well. Very happy with Glenwood.

My daughter attended grades 1-5 at Glenwood and I am very pleased with the teachers and staff there. I was originally intending to send my daughter to a private school and I am very glad that she attended Glenwood, she is in high school now and still goes back to visit her teachers there. They had very good programs and I was pleased both academically and socially.

We have been extremely pleased with Glenwood. Our child has received an excellent education. The couple of times over the years that we've had concerns, either socially or academically, the teachers and administration have taken us very seriously and worked with us to eliminate the problem. Glenwood, and RTMSD in general, achieves an awful lot of great things within a public school budget. Their art, music and AGP programs are wonderful. There is a lot of parental involvement. Family nights are always well attended and there are plenty of classroom volunteering opportunities, especially in the lower grades. Glenwood is a lovely little school and I am very, very happy my child has spent their elementary school years there.

I moved from NJ 3 years ago not knowing what to look for in different school districts!! My mother in law is a retired teacher so she knew what kind of things to loo for when it comes to schools!! I am more then pleased with this school as well as the staff and the principal that they have!!!!

There is a lack of resources to support the needs of the children. Each year, one teacher has been eliminated from my child's grade, making the classes larger and to full capacity. Teachers dedicated to teaching advanced classes have been eliminated and there are no teacher aides that I know of. There are little or no extracurriculum activities - no chess club, no football club, no gym club as there was in the past. Don't know if this is a trend for all schools because of lack of funding or maybe our school doesn't fight enough to get our share of the funds.

I am very pleased that we took our son out of private school and transferred him to Glenwood. His teacher is fantastic, the parent involvement is high, and the curriculum, extra programs and activities are well done. Taking him out of his old school was a difficult decision, but I 'm glad we did it. I would recommend this school to anyone.

I think the teachers should do an evaluations of themselves. If there should be changes in their teaching performance. Not to wait for the standarize testing to come to make the changes.

Glenwood is a great all around elementary school. Parental involvement is high and special needs can be accomodated upon request.

I'm shocked there are any negative reviews with this school unless people have the expectation that a place can be perfect. IMO, Glenwood comes pretty darned close for a public school/budget restrictions. Though there is a new grading system which allows children to compete against themselves instead of the rest of the class, there has been no decrease in standards. We moved to the district mid year last year and the teachers and support staff were amazing when it came to helping our children get used to their very different surroundings. We have had zero discipline issues and our children bounce out of bed every day with pure joy at the idea of going to school, even the 5th grader with the more surly temprament. I would like to see more extra-curricular activities as well, but am sure that if I cared organize one it would be offered.

The other reviews of this school are now obsolete. Recently Glenwood adopted a new grading system and has made related cirriculum changes. It is now Glenwood's stated goal that all children be 'average'. This is stated explicitly in the new report cards and other documents explaining the new system. If you think academic excellence is important, then this school is not a good choice.

My experience (and my son's)at Glenwood has been very positive. I think Mrs. Goldfarb and most teachers do an excellent job. My son is very happy going to school here. Parental involvement is left up to the parents. It seems you can do as little or as much as you'd like. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in your childs education. Teachers seem welcome to parents involvement. They have a higher ratio of male teachers, which I like. They have a wonderful before and after school program held in the school, which is convenient and fun for my son. We love Glenwood.

I have two children at Glenwood for several years. I feel Principal, Goldfarb has done an outstanding job. The school tends to feel like a community and I believe the teachers and the parents play a major role together to make this school great. My view of the teachers have been for the most part, exceptional and loving teachers, discipling and teaching with direction and love. And the most important experience of all is from my kids, and they love school. I couldn't have said that when I was their ages.

The staff and the curricula are top notch at Glenwood. Programs provide a firm grounding in the basics with plenty of opportunities for students to explore thier individual strengths. Glenwood is a bright, safe, happy learning environment!

the discipline in this school is not at all to be proud about. There are more children that are bullying kids. The head of school does not correct the situation or problem well.
