The school pushes the kids well academically (although there is a great lack of written papers, only 1 or 2 a term compared with the 4-6 of other area private schools), and unfortunately the coaches and teachers don't develop very personal relationships with most of the kids (only the top 1 or 2). The coaches in particular are criticized amongst the kids for not putting the kids first, and they can be pretty mean to those who aren't the 'superstar athletes'. Many of the parents are not very hospitable to people outside of their usual social group. Also, the new campus has amazing athletic facilities, but many of the buildings are ugly (mainly corrugated metal and cinderblock), especially the chapel (also known as a concrete spaceship). They really missed an opportunity when building their new campus. Also, most of the kids have never talked to the school leadership (the headmaster doesn't know who any of the kids are, exception: the top athletes on the football team).
