Montoursville Area Senior High School

Montoursville Area School District is an amazing District. Two of the top five elementary schools in the greater Williamsport area, and great middle school in the process of being fully renovated and a terific high school. Educationally it is among the best with the majority of students going on to college and graduating, provides great vo-tech education, and is one of the best sports schools in the state. multiple professional athletes have come out of this small town of 5,000 people and is a highly scouted school for major colleges and universities. Teachers and coaches are among the best, principals and admin. are caring, disciplined and respected in the community and by students. The only negative aspect about the high school is although it is rich in histroy and tradition the building is a little dated and will need some renovations in the future.

As a former student teacher and substitute teacher in this school, I can honestly say that Montoursville Area High School is my favorite school in the Williamsport region. I rarely had a behavioral problem with a student (which says a lot when you are a substitute teacher), the teachers are friendly, the secretaries are two of the sweetest, most helpful women that you will meet, and the principals are great as well (friendly with, but respected by the students). I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a great education for their child.

Montoursville is, in general, a great school. It's rather lacking in diversity, but offers a great environment. The staff is terrific! Teachers take an interest in their students lives and create an atmosphere in the classroom that is not only educational, but fun. Parents in the community work with the school to make extra-curricular activities and events a great success. Naturally, the school isn't perfect, but it is one of the best ones in the area.
