I'll echo the comments of the other reviewer. The principal is a disaster. She has some "gatekeepers" in the outer office, and if you have a concern you will NOT get to see her. If you persist long enough, you may get an audience. It won't do a bit of good. She'll dismiss your concerns, and make you feel as though you are wasting her time. She is extraordinarily rude. The one saving grace is that she's not in a classroom. I've been to several events where she spoke and tried to explain things. She was utterly incapable of communicating what were apparently simple concepts. Some schools separate students for math or reading based on ability. Given that there are 3 or 4 classes in each grade at Farmdale, there are clearly enough students to do this. Apparently this is too much like work, so student of widely varying abilities are all lumped together. The weak fall behind, and the strong are bored. I'm going to sell my house at a loss to move to a better school district. Farmdale is a perfect example of what's wrong with the public school monopoly. They get my money whether I send my child there or not. Parent involvement discouraged.

Farmdale has some wonderful and caring teachers, especially in the primary grades. However, the principle can be very moody and rude with both students and parents. It is difficult to volunteer for the school because of the principal's disrespect for parents. The school is finally getting some meeded updates and renovations.
