One word sums up Garden Spot Middle School: YUCK. The elementary schools in the district encourage the children to soar as high as possible. Then they get to middle school where advanced students are told they need to wait until the rest of the class catches up with them. What a waste. My son completely lost interest in school while he waited for the curriculum to catch up to his level. Instead of trying to help the students, the guidance counselor is too busy patting herself on the back for all her degrees and accomplishments. I thought it is supposed to be about the children. Thankfully the high school is a little better.
