Hi this is an experience from a student. Well I came new in 7th. No one really talked to me for 3months. After that I made friends and I was accepted. I like the school I think they prepare you well for High School. The students don't bully here ( even so it's only an ignorant child). Sometimes they give too much homework mainly in grammar and religion. Teachers can over yell. Strict in homework. I wouldn't reccommnd for little ones though. It may give an unrealistic view of "too nice" life. Students are nice but the younger less mature (5-7grade) and can be very rude/ ignorant at times. They do not really prepare the children for Math, Social Studies may be ahead. Science- same level, Spanish- Okay.. not overly impressing
Although my children have attended St. Francis for many years now I have made the decision to take them out this year. I had believed in the past that having my child in a spiritual based educational environment with small classes and a tight community would put them in the best position to succeed. I now believe that I was wrong, the idea that smaller classes would mean more time for my child if they fell behind was a nice thought but not a reality. The community that I once felt was the one thing that set this school aside I now believe is non existent. The values that are the reasons you send your child to catholic school for don't exist here. I would look elsewhere I know I did.
excellant school, excellant teachers children are taught in a loving environment. each child feels special. the principal greets everychild in the morning. this is more than a catholic school the values that are taught here will help to make a great adult.
I have attended over six schools throught my life, and this school is by far the best. I have been going here for 4 years. All of the teachers are very nice and truly care for your future. You learn so many things while having fun at the same time. There is a new principa; this year who has allowed us to have more fun by letting us do little things like writing in colored ink pens. Also, the new principal has allowed new opportunities like new activities and events. All of the students are very nice and accepting of new students. I have had many good memories at this school, and plan to have many more. Although this is my last year, this school will ALWAYS be my favorite and remain in my heart. I love SFA!
my son has been in this school since pre-k and even dispite his reading disability, he still loves school. they have gone above and beyond what they as a private school has to for my son and i feel confident in keeping him there despite the words i hear from public teacher friends ('he'll get more help in a public school')... maybe he'll get a little more help but there are many other great qualities about this school that i wouldn't be willing to trade for the world.
This school was the best fit for my child. It has given her the time and patience she need to learn. They gave her a solid foundation in the basics. They take the time to listen to them. They have an after school program along with a Day Care that is right next to the school. They will communicate many different ways if needed... computer, Family envelope or by phone to accommodate the parents. I have never wait more a day to know about my child. The sense of morality and respect are missing today in some school but not here. They make them accountable for there actions and encourage the right ones. Please put this school on your list to see. It could be a good fit for you and your child.
Both of my daughters go there and absolutely love it. From a parent's point of view, they are wonderful. Excellent communication between parents and teachers. The teachers are very communicative and keep the parents involved. There is no other school, I'd want my girls to attend. I will cry when they leave.
My son goes to this school and loves it. I have had nothing but good experiences with St. Francis and the staff there. I would recommend this school to anyone. The teachers at St. Francis genuinely care about each of their students. I have had bad experiences with other schools in the area and Iam very glad that I came across this one. My son will stay at St. Fancis because it is a great school.
As a parent of a new pre-school student at St. Francis of Assisi, I am very pleased with the school. My child cannot wait to go to school each day, and loves her teachers. She has learned so many new things in such a short period of time. Everyday is a new learning experience for her. I hear all about it on the way home. I highly recommend St. Francis of Assisi School for its academic, social and religious education. Richelle Casner, Parent
As a former student at St Francis and now a parent with 2 children in the school, I am very pleased with the education of my children. Teachers are enthusiastic, improvements are always being made and the students are happy to attend SFA. While my youngest child has some learning problems, she gets all the attention and extra help that she needs to succeed. As for HONORS, this is an goal that students try to achieve. Diocesan rules state that child must obtain 85% in ALL major subjects for Second Honors. I have attended Awards Assemblies and both the principal and pastor ALWAYS congratulate not only those who achieve honors but all student s for trying to do their best .
