The teachers and staff really care about the child as a whole person. They go out of their way to be sure each child has the same opportunity to learn to the best of that child's ability.

OF Elementary School truly believes in the child and fosters a wonderful opportunity for his/her growth in social, academic and family learning. The faculty has been top notch and its administration wonderful to deal with.

Here is honest, most of the teachers are great, the town is small so the classroom size is about 16-20 students per room. Music, Art, library, computer, sports and many more are here. PTA volunteer with field trips and book fairs etc, but no longer allow parents to volunteer at lunch. Problem is: teachers unions strikes are a burden in this school system. Four in the past two years with the probability of another in the spring (2006) Parents have rallied against strikes and we even went to Harrisburg in front of legislature to endorse a bill to end union strikes for teachers. We do not have a permanent principal since the previous one retired. Until the school tightens up the loose screws we won't find one either. Hope this helps.

The teachers in this school are great except for the fact they keep striking. Old Forge is a very small town. Plenty of activities for the kids. PTA of course and parent envolvement. Unfortunately the kids around here are snots. I love Old Forge but some people ruin it for us trying to make a living. These kids are rude, snobbish, and ignorant and some of these kids are like this before they start kindergarden. I know its like this everywhere but its worse here because everybody knows everyone. You want honest and here it is. Good luck. Some people won't judge you but most will.
