The School makes a great first impression, However after sending my children there for 5 years now, come to find out that the Leadership is to be questioned. Msgr. and the Principal have Lied to my family and we have made the decision to pull our children. The Preschool is great, however make sure you look at other schools too... St Jose's student body over the years was up to +/-450, and now around 375.. Beware of first impressions, and take a look at other schools before making your decision. My wife and I are now much better and know we have made the right decision to pull the Kids...
This school is awesome, especially Mr. Simcoe! He is such a comedian. I recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a catholic education, or at lest look into the prep program!
We have two children at St. Joes. Both have had phenomenal academic, social, and spiritual experiences thus far. We are particularly impressed with the middle school at St. Joes. My middle school daughter is safe, happy, and well adjusted due to the supportive Catholic environment created at this school.
I have had several children at this school and have been extremely happy with the teachers and administration. I don't agree with a prior posting. I had a child in 5th grade taking 6th grade math. The school may not have the same set up as public school, but it is the parent's responsibility to discuss their child with the teacher to meet their child's needs. If there is a concern, then the parent should go have a discussion with the principal. I have found that every time I had a discussion with a teacher or the principal, I was very pleased with the outcome. I feel this is an exceptional school. There is no perfect school, but this school is perfect for my family!!
This school was okay. This school does not have the best science and math classes once you reach third grade and up. My child switched to the local puplic school district, Parkland, and her grades improved imediately. It is not the best school for acedemics but is great for learning about religion.
My son attained Iowa scores that were incredible!!
This school is safe and relatively small, although class size hovers around 24-16 in each class. Teacher turn over is common, and there is a limited athletic program. Good Catholic values and many fundraising opportunities.
