One of the worst Charter School's in the City of Philadelphia! The school's charter should be revoked immediately! Please do not send your child to this school.
World Communications Charter School is one of the worst schools in Philadelphia. The teachers DO NOT care about the children's education nor do they want them to succeed. I've been there. The children do good work, but they are not given credit for it. The dean is the worst person ever, NO ONE would ever want to come in contact with. Please parents if you want your children to succeed in high school, DO NOT send them there.
Horrible school! Very chaotic and disrespectful school ever! I bet it's worst than South Philly High. Although the teachers are okay, but the other staffs are horrid. I can't believe I attended this school. I thought it would be nice, but now I learned my lesson. "Don't judge a book by it's cover"
WCCS is making progress. The school has a new Principal and Assistant Principal. They have been there since 2011! The school has many clubs and spirits activities. I really like my school. WCCS is making moves.
HAHA... I went to this school and let me tell you...IT WAS HORRIBLE! This School doesn't even have a principle! The teachers curse and the KIDS ARE SO MEAN! I NEVER looked forward to going to school each morning, the kids are ghetto and rough and I got bullied EVERY SINGLE DAY! I told the teachers...they never did anything. If you don't understand anything in class, they don't stop to explain it. Their attitude at that school is: "OH WELL!" I HATE THAT SCHOOL. Im in eight grade and I'm now attending First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School! I LOVE IT! BUT WCCS....IS A NO!
i attended this school from 6th to 9th grade. i repeated 9th grade twice. but even with that the staff are full of disrespectful NTA'S that have nothing better to do than argue with children. Of course there are a few children that handle the staff with caution. some of the curriculum is good some isnt
i moved from the suburbs into the city. although this wasn't my first choice this was the only charter school that had room to take both of them. to say that, Im moving my daughter who is in the 10th grade out after the first yr. The school counsel is the worst I had ever seen. The school dist we can from looked like a privet school after dealing with this lady. For months I called her to get info about transferring my daughter with n success. I had to go make the changes I need myself. please look more closely where you children are goin to school. They would have been better going to a public school.
this school is ok, but it is not all crack up like it said it was. i am having second thoughts about removing my daughter, its her 1st year .
WCCS has a staff that is dedicated to the education of its youth. They give of their personal time and money. The students are challenged and they respond energetically.
Caring, knowledgable Faculty and staff, broad-based educational program. educationally challanging curricula.
My daughters is in the 9th grade at World and this is her first year. i talk with her daily for updates on how her day has gone. My daughter has nothing but great things to say about World. She enjoys her teachers and she enjoys her classmates. She is really excited about the classes she will be taking also. So as for me and my child......so far so good!
My daughter is an 7th grader at WCCS. I have run into a few challenges with the Principal and his assistant who is very unprofessional. However my daughter teachers are great. they challenge the children and always lend a hand to help. So overall academically the school is good, but with a principal and assistant principal that run this school, I am unsure how long this school will be a good one. I will update my post Half way through the year..
this school is pretty cool i been going to this school since 6th grade im now a freshmen in high school the NTAS are cool so are some of the teachers is also academics are first and if you dont understand the information you soon will i graduated 8th grade last year with honors overall the school is pretty good
As a teacehr and educator at WCCS I would like to respond to the numerous negative remarks about WCCS. Like many schools, WCCS does not run perfectly, however our academics, which are stringent, are adhered to by the teachers who work here. Teachers challenge our students and are here long after school hours to help those students who are struggling to reach the required 80% to be considered passing. Our encore program functions as an extra class students can attend to obtain any help they need. Depsite the kinks in the system, WCCS takes extreme care to follow academic standards and our discipline policy is adhered to by our Dean of Students. This is truly a safe place for children to learn and the teachers here go above and beyond to help those students who want to be helped.
im am a seventh grader at wccs and all i can say is that world is a goos school. it keeps kids like myself challenged. i would recomend wccs to anyone .
My daughter is a junior attending WCCS and says nothing upstanding about this school. Therefore, I am in the process of transferring her out. This school is not good for high school students because they dont have transcripts for students and it is sad to hear my daughter come home distraught about these situations.
I would not recommend this shool to anyone. Some of the teahers do not take the students education to heart. If you don't care about communication between parent and teachers then I say send you child but, if you do don't send your child which ever way you go I wish you the best.
World Communication Charter does offer advanced programs but overall lacks the academic atmosphere for students to progress from within. Very poor communication between counselors and parents. The culture of the school lacks discipline and parent involvement.
My daughter is a new student at this school. This is her first year back in a brick & morter school after being homeschooled for a while. I have heard and read some of the issues associated with this school. However, they have made drastic changes and are not tolerating any displinary actions. Academnically things are going well so far. I will update my review and the year goes along.
I am a parent of a six grade student, and also my oldest daughter attended the school. The school is in need of serious help because the counslers lack poor communication with the parents. The school also does not supply enough help for the students if needed with their learning skills. The counslers are very unprofessional and in need of serious traning it has a good academic program but over all I will not recommend this school.
