My daughter graduated from Stanton last year and was accepted into four special admit high schools. She selected CAPA, which is one of the best art-focused high schools in Philadelphia. Stanton did a fabulous job preparing her for high school and college. That's why our two younger children are there now! We love the E.M. Stanton community.

Academics + Arts = Excellence. This is the motto that says it all about this small K - 8 elementary school in southwest center city Philadelphia. Dedicated teachers, long standing community and parent involvement, and an unusual arts program combine to create a family type atmosphere where every child is known by all the staff. In addition to the rigorous curriculum in reading, mathematics, and science, students are exposed to visual arts, music, drama and dance. Stanton is located within a short walking distance to Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts and boasts several dozen longstanding arts partnerships which enrich the climate and culture of the school. Teaching artists in residence provide consistent experiences and instruction during the school day and students take advantage of many cultural institutions in the city. Through strong parent and community involvement, Stanton has emerged as a star in the universe of desirable schools in Philadelphia. It's a "come and see" kind of school - so come and see us.

Our son just finished 1st grade at Stanton and had a fantastic experience. The staff is great and the school is small enough that each teacher knows every kid. It has a great community of parents and neighbors who volunteer in the school as well as raise funds for extra curricular programs including cultural arts instruction. The principal is fantastic and she has always made herself available to parents.

We've earned AYP 6 years in a row, have a highly acclaimed cultural arts enrichment program, and have integrated technology throughout the school. The staff has been there for a long time, and care about the students.

This school is en-route to becoming a very good school.It is an inner city school but the principal holds high expectations for every student. I have 3 children in the scchool and it will be on of the top schools. The thing that bothers me though is because of budget(I guess) they dont alot alot of thing that non inner city schools have. I beleive thing like that would really boost confidence in alot of the inner city school children.But all-in-all the school is trying their best with what they have available to them.
