I went to JONES in the early 90's and I loved it....The teachers taught us everyday and we learned.....These days the kids are ANIMALS and the parents are to blame. The teachers show up everyday to teach and do what they are suppose to,and then you have some ignorant kids who are violent and disrespectful, who want to be a show off in front of other students,I really think that there should be a school for kids who think everything is a joke and want to play all day instead of learning, because of these little idiots they are hurting the kids who want to learn and that just isn't FAIR......If the pricipal isn't capable of controlling the students then a new one should be appointed...When I was there we were all cautious of the PRICIPAL,he/she was our leader, mentour NOT afraid to yell and take control.....I hope that one day someone will be able to be brave enough and strong enough to bring the school back to the way it was,the way a school should be.....

For those complaining about the faculty/staff of this school.....I dare you to come in and to try and get these kids under control. Discipline starts at home. The majority of these students are disrespectful to authority, will not keep quiet during lessons, leave the classroom without asking. When those kids do walk out, it allows the teacher to teach the ones who are there to learn. God bless those teachers who are there loving the unlovable and teaching the unteachable. They are doing the very best they can with what they have been given.

Oh man, I went to this school back in 2000~2001. This school is awful, you'll see at least a few fighters per day. Kids will just wrestle and goof off in the hall ways. There are a lot of broken, old lockers that are no longer in use, and students would just knock each other into them. A lot of the classes are a joke, in Spanish class, I remember everyone just goofed off and played, while the teacher just smoked. I live really close to the school, and at least twice a week, there are huge fights and brawls started by the students coming out of school. So ya, if you're a parent, PICK ANOTHER SCHOOL!

I belive that Jones is a wonderful learning exsperience for any child. There kids are taught in many different background. Yes there are distractions and some disiplinary problems but ,it's a school where kids can be themselves without worrying about all the pressures of the world. And coming from Jones myself (2004) I disagree with the parents here. If they never went there how can they tell if the school is suitable for children or not.

I agree with both comments. John Paul Jones should be shut down. This school has become a disgrace to education. The children who attend are not there to learn and the teachers are not there to teach them. The educators spend a majority of their time disciplining children who should not be in the school at all. I regret ever subjecting my child to such a war like enviornment.

I agree with the parent who commented ahead of me, I believe a lot of the teachers are ok, and alot of the children that attend that school are discipline problems, and i don't believe that their are alot of parents that have children attend that school even care what is going on in the school itself, some of them never even seen the inside of the school , i think if more parents got involved the overall quality of the school would improve, i don't think it has anything to do with the type of neighborhood its located in, cause conwell middle school is in a worse part of the city then jones and that is a much better school overall. I have a child in Jones, and one in Conwell and I don't like Jones at all.
