I am currently a student at this HIGH SCHOOL and it made a complete turn around. We don't have the BEST teachers, but we have teachers that are willing to get out of bed in the morning to teach us because they care! Ms. Eberle is the best principal anyone could ask for. She is there when we need her, even if we don't need her, she is still there. Don't be afraid to send your student there because it's not a bad school, we as students give this school a reputation and we should do better with respecting OUR home.

I went to Sayre Middle School. No we did not have all of the opportunities that other schools in other neighborhoods but at that that time the teachers really did their best with what they had.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this school! It has nothing to do with behavior it's just the academics and the coursework is not rigorous. They are letting go of the good teachers and keeping the bad ones. They suspend people for wearing the wrong type of uniform(student being unaware of it) without letting them get a chance to go home and change. The staff makes the school something that it is not, a well rounded school!

I went to Sayre Jr. High in 1982-83. I was always an honor student before I attended. In one year I went from all a's and b's to all D's and E's maybe a few 5 or 6 C's. They passed me to the 8th grade. I changed schools and made all A's and B's. I don't live in Philly anymore, but, that is one school I will never reunite to or send my kids to.

My daughter is attending this school for summer program. I am deeply concerned about the violence and obscene language coming from the students. The school staff seems very encouraging and have a great deal of discipline to deal with.

Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
