Worse school! Ever since a lot of middle schools were closed all the bad kids are coming to Wilson. My daughter went there last yr for 6th grade. She was constantly bullied and threatened. Her grades dropped drastically because of all the fighting that went on in the classrooms (she video recorded a fight amongst a bunch of girls). She stood up to the kids and told the teacher that it's distracting and affecting her grades and that's when she was threatened. I puller her out of there and there is no way in hell my youngest will be going their either when she gets to middle school. If I could I would have gave no stars but had to leave at least 1.
I graduated from there and they give out A's from doing nothing but sleep and on there phones and cut class.
Horrible school! Students are out of control. The cursing is awful. Fights daily. Lockers broken into and items stolen. Staff do not care. It is only November and I am pulling my child (6th grade, first year there) out. After school is the scariest time there. Students push other students into traffic. Punch other students in hallways. Even if child in the the IB program they are still picked on. HORRIBLE SCHOOL.
This is my second year at Wilson and it okay there some things they can improve on but overall i love my school.
my child goes to Wilson ms and it is a great school but bad kids. There is a lot of cursing and so far there is no fights so i guess that is a good thing.
Well I don't know what to say.. There are usual fights and bullies. People pop lockers and take all your stuff or damage it. Most students are mean. But on the other side the teachers are great and some friends are really nice. Studies and stuff is OK. Not good not bad. I'm going to seventh grade and thinking of changing school.
Don't get me started on this school!!there are fights EVERY SINGLE DAY.im a student entering the 7th grade! This was my first year here and there were boys with tattoos in 8th grade!! The assistant principles do NOTHING!there are rats in the cafeteria, the lunch aids smoke on school property. The staff curse, the students skipping, don't check cameras, students write about other students on social media, kids breaking locks and stealing them!TERRIBLE security, lots of drama, water fights, burnt lunches, litter all around the school, teachers have no control of students and rude staff and that's only a little bit!im just getting started.there are many more but I'm running out of space so..see if you like this school!
It's an OK school. My granddaughter has been there for one year. The choir show is great.
My school is great glad to be a Wilson Wildcat!!! I love my school and the IB program
Woodrow Wilson Middle School... This has to be on of the worst middle schools in the city. I enrolled my daughter there because we moved into the neighborhood. That was a huge mistake to say the least!! My child was never suspended from school until she began attending Wilson. Since then she has been suspended over 5 times for things that don't believe warranted suspensions. First it was because her uniform shirt had no collar, then it was because she had a verbal altercation with another student... That's right verbal. And please don't try to call and talk to somebody like the principal about your concerns, because she is never available to discuss your concerns unless you are bringing your child back from suspension. No wonder the school is out of control! Lack of proper leadership. Extremely glad that this is her last year, but please take my warning into consideration before enrolling your child into this school. P.S. Suspending a child from school is not always the answer to the problem.
Its not really a good school, I get in trouble at least everyday get yelled at&start fights& there is to much cursing going around i have to admit I am one of those kids that arent that smart & we dont have good teachers
Im only an alumni of Wilson, but I have to say it is a great school to enroll your child. There is different programs students can choose from and I was in choir there. There was my special educationt eacher who always tried to help me when they could. It was a pretty good 3 years fro me. I never had a complaint.
I am in the 8th grade and all I have to say is Thank God This Is My Last Year! I have been here for 3 years and I feel there are alot of changes that need to be done. I am in the IB program and it is a good program you learn alot and are around better kids who want to learn. I think that school is not clean and way to crowded. Some teachers are nice but most of them aren't. The fights and violence in the school is terrible. The security is like there is no security. I feel good I was only there 3 years or I would have to transfer. I am just glad to be done!
I am currently going into the 8th grade at Wilson. I have to say overall it is a pretty good school, but a few things could be changed. For one, kids should not have 90 minutes of Math and Reading. All the classes should be the same time length. Also, I think we should have extra classes to take not just Math, Reading, S.S and Science. Also, I don't like the new teaching methods. Up until the 6th grade I was a straight A student. In 7th grade I went down to B's and C's. It's just very difficult to understand. I like a lot of the students and teachers there and I have to say the instrumental program is the coolest with Mr. Fumo as the teacher. That's the best thing that school has to offer.
I have three kids here, 6th, 7th, 8th. The school is an ok school, the only thing that bothers me is 1 assistant principal (the school has 3 of them) worries about unimportant things, like if the kids have a second set of clothes under their uniforms (eventhough it's their gym uniform underneath) The school needs more security and I'm not to crazy about the new learning process. I really think they need to bring back the old courses (you know hands-on) like shop classes and Home Ec. The kids do need to learn reading and writing but they also need the old shop classes back! We learned more years ago, when school was fun to learn and not so stressfull.
Yes, there are a lot of students at Wilson, but this new principal has really changed the school around. The children want to come to school. They want to learn. The staff are really looking forward to another year.
