I think are students are terrific, we go to work and they do a wonderful job.they are also very kind and courteous to staff.the staff are awesome they strive to help the students become responsible young men and women ,for their future.

RHS has truely come a long way. I have two daughters who have attended the school. One graduated last year another this year 09. When Ms Johnson came out of retirement and cleaned up the school I knew we made the right choice. However when she left I had some concerns. Along comes Mr Jenkins (a Mr Joe Clark) who is a zero tolerance man. Thank you Mr Jenkins for setting a high standard that you and your staff has been truely living by. I would also like to thank two of your staff members personally for being great teachers. Mrs Montgomery and Mr Dilworth you have help my daughter stay focus and you challeged her to think out side of the box. It truely takes a villiage to raise a child thanks for the great job. I know La'chell whould say the same if she knew I was posting this.

I am a studen that goes to RHS and for me this wa a huge mistake. They set the rules down and guess what no one takes it seriously. All the kids wear there hoodies when they are not suppose to and the staff doesnt even care. There are fights all the time and when it breaks out in the hall ways the kids will rush out of the classrooms to watch it DURING CLASS. To me this school is a disapointment there is basically no learning and for me a student look forward to going to college this is not the right school. They tell you no cell phones and all the kids bring them in some how through the security and sometimes the security will see it and wont care. For anybody that is looking into this school if i was in your shoes I wouldnt go.

im only giving it one star. roxborough is what i thought to be a neighborhood school; like when i went there, but there is only like a feww children in this neighborhood, that'll actually go

Yes, there are problems at this school. What school in the district doesn't have problems. It is not the fault of the teachers. The teaching staff and support staff do everything but do back flips to educate the children that are fortunate enough to attend RHS. It's not the fault of the parents, either. Whose fault is it, you ask? Try asking your local government officials. Ask President Bush. Every last bit of wrong is laid upon the working staff at a school. The responsibility is governments. Ask your government and local officials to cut class sizes, add more hands-on academics, stop the red-tape on class trips. Stop blaming the kids, parents and most certainly the teachers.

I am a member of the Roxborough High School's Home & School Association. Florence Johnson, the principal who was asked by Paul Vallas to come out of retirement and come to Roxborough High School is doing a tremendous job. The students are showing more interest in their education. She has a great rapport with her students, as well as the teachers. Spanish will no longer be the only language taught at the school. Starting in the Fall, there will be two more languages added to the curriculum. Ms. Johnson has transferred many of the students out of Roxborough, who had disclinary problems. The school is much cleaner. Ms. Johnson's goal is to make Roxborough High School, a school with quality academic programs as well as the availability of extracurricular activities. The Roxborough Home & School Association feel that Ms. Johnson is doing an excellent job.

Dear parents Roxborough High School have some brand new energy. We have a principal Ms Johnson, who has taken this school to a level of expectation of excellence and nothing short of that is acceptable. Academics , discipline and overall attitude has turned around making Roxborough a school you want to attend. As an involved parent I am going to see to it that we keep moving on this positive path towards excellence for our students. As we encourage parents to get involved and stay involved in the direction Roxborough has taken .

My overview of Roxborough High School is that my son has had a success years at Roxborough. His teachers and the classes for the Business Academy have made a wonderful impact on his life. He went from an average student to an Honor student. The leadership in the early years had a lot of improving to do. The Vice-principal Ms. Stubbs helped the early years to be a great success. She saw students who had something special in them and she work hard to progress it. I am thankful to her for sharing in my sons life. It was sad to see her leave Roxborough due to management. It was a great lost for Roxborough. The problems and fighting in the school brought a prison atmospheres. Thank God for Dr. Johnson who brought back the care and concern for each individual making Excellent a standard at Roxborough High.

We moved to Philadelphia from Michigan and was not aware of the poor state of afarirs of teh philadelphia publice schools...knowing what I know now, I wouold have planned for private school! Roxborough is okay but as far as assisting my son, teaching my so what he need sfor college, they barely give him what he needs to even transfer to a better high school!

I feel as a parent of a student at this school they are letting the students run the school. For the safety of our children they need to clean this school up.

This school may not be the best school in our area but my child has learned so much. Parents should be a little more envolved. But I feel that the teacher do care alot about the children.

As a RHS junior, my advice for anyone considering going to school here is to look somewhere else. RHS used to be a good school, but it has severely dropped in quality. The school has a high level of illiteracy, fighting, and general disrespect. The administration is abominable (the new principal barely knows what she is doing) and the classes are ridiculously slow-paced (most students here cannot handle advanced classes and thus slow their teachers down). The school newspaper was recently halted when the principal refused to fund it, and student groups are almost nonexistant. The only thing this school has going for it are several amazing teachers, but sadly, most of them will be retiring by 2007.
