Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Middle School children are at a very tough age. Baldi handles all these emotional and behavioral issues swiftly and compassionately. The school has excellent academics-so much so that my daughter discovered that her friend in a suburban high school was using the exact same science curriculum that she had at Baldi last year in 7th grade!! This school should be commended for doing way above and beyond the basics and the staff should be commended for their time and commitment to the school far beyond what the school district resources supply!

CCBALDI is a great school. I have two that graduated from Baldi and attended Central High School. I have the last one starting this year. I felt my kids were prepared for the challenges at Central and did very well. Lots of activities available and many extra curricular activiies that enhance learning.

CCA Baldi Middle School is a great school. My daughter will be entering 8th grade in fall 2013 and Loves it there. The teachers that she has had have been wonderful. I have never had a problem with any of them, they are not rude, but helpful if there is a problem. It is not to say that all the childrenAs for the children, there are those that do not do homework, do not do projects and are disruptive in class. The teachers handle them the best they can but Parents need to be actively involved in there childrens learning. I would recommend the school.

CCA Baldi Middle School is almost the worst school ever. The teachers give you attitude, the kids their don't have no idea how much they act disgusting towards each other and the kids aren't on the math and reading level they should be on.Don't put your kid into this school unless you want them to drop a grade average from A-B to a C -D and I won't be surprised if your child got an A to a F. The teachers don't understand how to grade properly, but grade how your child acts in that class. I would not let my child ever go there again and she's a straight A student , but ended up with Bs and Cs in classes. Right when I questioned the teachers they changed her grade right away. I'm disappointed in the the whole school policy and rules since it was highly recommended by the teachers and staff of Fox Chases Elementary. Shame!

My son came from Fox Chase and has been going to Baldi since 6 grade. Next year is his last year at the school. I have to say I love this school and my son loves it too. How many people can say their son hates when the weekends come, because he rather be in school. He want from going to Baldi for summer school, to become an honor roll student and at the top of his class.

I was told by the principal that this was like a suburban school in the city. He obviously does not know what the suburban schools are like. There is no accountability for students. They are allowed to turn in assignments late and still get full credit as long as it is in before the end of the semester. I don't know any suburban school that does that. In most cases, one day late gives you an automatic drop to 50%. The second day gives you a 0% but you still have to turn it in or you get an incomplete for the semester and will not be able to graduate the grade until the assignment is complete. The standard of education is subpar to the suburbs as well. The students are not held to using correct grammar when writing or speaking. The assignments are ridiculously easy for middle school children at the average or above average level resulting in no academic challenge. The school itself is very worn looking and there are bars on the windows making it look like a prison. The parking lot always has trash in it as do the playing fields. Many of the walls have graffiti on them as well. Inside the halls are cramped and dirty looking.

C. C. A. has a diverse population of students from all over the world. The students love to learn and I love to teach them.... Our students are extraordinary.... Namely, they embrace each other's cultures and are passionate in learning about global issues.

My daughter just started 6th grade at Baldi and I am soooo impressed already! For the first time since she started kindergarten she is in a school where she is challenged. And she loves it! What a breath of fresh air to listen to her rave about her teachers and classmates. We have such stimulating conversations about what is happening in school now! Baldi is the best!

This is an amazing middle school. I am a graduate of the class of 2006 and I can honestly say those were the best 3 years of my life thus far. I wish I had appreciated it more when I was a student there. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed it until I reached high school. I highly recommend this school!

C.C.A Baldi Middle School is an amazing, amazing environment. I am graduating in a few months, and am incredibly sad to do so.The years fly by. In 8th grade, depending on your test scores from the year before, you may be put into one of the four IB classes. The teachers of 801-804 are very supportive, and know what they're doing. If you are looking for a friendly middle school that will benefit your child in many ways, choose Baldi.

For the last two years I attended Baldi Middle, and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I started out in 7th grade and that just happened to be one of the best years of my life. I was so looking forward to the 8th grade that in the last few days of summer I slept most of the time because I wanted the time to move faster. 8th grade was really amazing. However, I had one of the worst teachers ever in a subject thats very important. However, the rest of my teachers were very supportive of me and very comforting. As the year was coming towards an end my friends and I were thinking about failing our classes so we could be held back. Baldi; my true home

Last year in 7th grade was my first year so I didn't know what to expect but as the year went on I made a lot of friends and my seventh grade teachers where the best. At first I had a very hard time with math but I took a after school tuerting called power hour. Also my teacher came to school early to help me. Baldi has a lot of good sports and we sometimes always make it to the championships. Baldi has a lot of things you can do after school like art clubs, robotics, sport practices and a lot more. I personaly think all the teachers are great but if you get on their bad side thats when they can scream at you.Baldi is the best school ever!

I am a student at Baldi and going to 8th grade this coming year. The main reason I gave this school a 3 star rating is because: we are not going to have any more computer classes at all; the school starts earlier this year; the periods are going to be much longer, I believe about 1 hour+. I can only hope that its not much worse than I think it will be. The good things are that there are going to be new teachers and that there are already good teachers there. Another good thing is that they just finished paving the parking lot, because it was not smooth nor did it look good at all. Also at the end of last year we got air-conditioning which is a big plus. If you are a nice person and behave you will have no problems with teachers there. (Source-myself)

I am a teacher at Baldi. I am sorry that you had such a difficult time in 6th grade. Most of our teachers care about the students and the school. Yes, there are times when a teacher is having a bad day but I believe that there are others that would have helped you over the bumps. We care. I believe that Baldi is the best middle school in Phila. I had no hesitation about sending my own child there.

I am currently a student at Baldi and I am going into 7th grade. I think this school needs work. We have a new principal and we are now going to have gym everyday and everything is going bad.I think the playground at baldi is disgusting and some of the teachers are very rude. The only thing ruder then the teachers are the students. When I was in 6th grade the 7th graders always picked on us. The 8th graders however, were nice and very busy with work. Not happy.

I am currently a student of the class of 07 at Baldi Middle School. I have nothing but good words to say about this school because it has only showed me caring people, and friendly faces. Baldi has been a home to me with the after school programs and the friends I have made. Baldi has allowed me to grow in a way that only inriches my world of life and learning. If you are thinking about sending your child to Baldi, you have made a good choice. Since being in Baldi I have learned many new things that will help me in high school and after high school. Everyday I am met with new challenges and a different approach in learning. The teachers and staff are always welcoming to me, and know me very well. Baldi has been and will be an amazing school. Baldi has many extracurricular activities as well as sports programs available. The academic programs are top notch. They also have a wonderful hearing resource room which is staffed with a very knowledgeable and caring teacher. The staff at Baldi truly takes an interest in your child and works very hard to help your child achieve. The caring of the staff does not stop with your child, however, it extends to your family as well. I was very pleased with the education my son received at Baldi and would highly recommend it.

I am amazed at the difference in my child since attending Baldi! She has moved from a 'D' average to an 'A'-'B'. She has a Doctor of Mathmatics teaching her Math. She has been exposed to the opera, the theater, and participated in the Science Fair where she was chosen out of 6 sixth grade students to present to the judges. The projects are intense - something close to the college level, but she is finally motivated to work! Her interest has been captivated. Kudos to Dr. Gondo, and Mrs. Allen - you are fabulous educators. -Kristi Emery
