St Martha's school is a wonderful school. I have two childen that attend St Martha's! You could not ask for a more dedicated staff, from Father Al and Father Andy to Mrs. Donofry and all the wonderful teachers, that dedicate their life to teaching our children! I applaud everyone one of them! My daughter is a straight A student, my son who has some learning difficulties is thriving and determined to become a straight A student! Our school is a close knit community, and our newly appointed Home and School are doing a wonderful job creating new activities for the whole family to enjoy! We can only get better, especially if the parental support is also there. I wish they would move forward with honors math! SMS is truly the BEST!
Saint Martha School in the Far Northeast is awesome. Teachers are caring and give 110% form working at the Carnival to hosting Spaghetti dinners during Catholic Schools Week. They are family. Father Al and Mrs. Donfory greet the children every morning and you can see the love and enthusiasm as they greet each child by name. The newly formed Home & School association is doing great things for the school.
I have three children, two that are still enrolled at St. Martha and my oldest who graduated and is now attending Ryan. I love St. Martha School and my three children love the school as well. Everyone here at St. Martha care about the students. You can see the teachers go above and beyond for the students. The Pastor and Principal greet each and every student each morning. There are a lot of activies for all the students, singing, guitar and book clubs and plenty of sports. There is something for everyone. Yes, Yes, SMS is the school for our family because if feels like a family here.
i love st marthas school im new to the school and i think everyone i nice in the school i really love it and so does my mom love that school she thinks its better than bvm
I have two children that attend St. Martha's School and I am 100% satisfied with school. Parents chose a Catholic school for the religious instruction, the discipline and the environment. In every regard, St. Martha's School accomplishes all that and more. Parents are active in the school and the children enjoy their teachers and classmates. My children arrive home from school every day with great stories about what they learned and what they did with their friends. I had a choice between a private Catholic elementary school in this area and St. Martha's School. I made the right decision. A Catholic school will teach your child how to become a good person and that will stay with them for the rest of their life. Isn't that the most important life lesson of all?
I have two children who currently attend St. Martha School and I believe they are receiving an excellent education in a very safe, disciplined and caring environment. The principal, Mrs. Donofry, is extremely hands-on when it comes to the students. She greets each child every day as they enter the school (many times with hugs for the little ones) and she's always outside during dismissal making sure everyone is safely inside their cars before anyone can exit the parking lot. She and the teaching staff are readily available to answer questions or meet with parents, when asked to do so. I feel the students get a lot of individual attention from the faculty and staff. In addition to a great academic curriculum, the teachers also emphasize the importance of self-discipline and respect for others. My children love St. Martha's and enjoy going to school every day.
I went to this school for two years. It was good but had its downsides. The principal was too concerned with uniforms. I was having problems with losing a parent and one day I was crying as I went to the nurse and she was rude and all she cared about was the blue shirt under my school shirt but I got help from other adults at school. I did have problems with one teacher at school but all my other teachers were wonderful, caring and helpful. I am blessed I had people around me that cared during my time at the school.
The principal has no oversight in the school! There is so much bullying going on it its ridiculous. Unfortunately, it is going to come down to something serious happening before any action will take place.
The principal is more interested in the uniform than the education. The children are only allowed to walk in circles at lunch recess. Ever since the automatic church withdrawl began (what a great idea that was!!!) the attendance at church has dramatically decreased. My 3 year old wants to know why the church is so empty. I like the teachers and the attention my child gets; however, I do not like the principal and for the expensive cost to attend school, I am 100% sure that my child will be going to Christ The King in the fall. Their tutition is lower, the offer foreign languages, and everyone rated their pincipal 5 stars. Not happy at St. Martha School.....
I pulled my 3rd grade out!!! starting from the priest who talks finacial reports during the homily to stressing children to a point of not wanting to go to school. My child was always scared she was going to be embarrassed in the classroom and they would degrade my student and that is not good for a 3rd graders self esteem. Im so glad im out of there.
I am not at all happy with St. Martha School. I believe that the new Principal is more concerned with uniforms than with our children's education. The school has definately gone down hill since Mrs. Donofry arrived. I believe her to be uncaring and uninteressted in the students unless it suits her need for them. That being said, there are some caring teachers who honestly care about the children and their education. However, I will not be sending my 4 children back to St. Martha's in the fall.
I feel that Saint Martha's school has very caring and qualified teachers. The teachers go above and beyond the call of duty. They strive to reach all the children's unique needs.
I have to say that I love St. Martha's school. I feel that the parents of St. Martha school should feel comfort in the fact that their children are part of a small community and a safe environment. Tuition is a fortune and the whole uniform thing can be unnerving, however, because of the structure and the small school size, our children feel safe, and a sense of belonging. Many of the larger schools can be very overwhelming, and the children have to grow up sooo fast. Be grateful, it really is a good school, I try to over the politics. I would like to see a Drama club, that would be fun:)One, more thing, the teachers, are EXCELLENT!
St. Martha Elementary Echool has many good programs. I would love to see them increase the availability of foreign language classes for the children and would love to see music offered as an extracurricular activity for children who were interested. Unfortunately at present we seem to be more focused on improving the uniform than in improving the academics.
St. Martha school is a great school. My daughter is a straight a student. The teachers keep the parents involved in the school work, everything needs to be reviewed and signed by the parent. Parent teacher conferences are always welcome. They offer sports for both girls and boys, and other programs such as art, music, and choir... Which is really nice because the kids get to perform in plays with the high school kids (located next door to the elem school) and it allows them to get to know them as well. Parents are always welcome to volunteer where help is or isnt needed. Home and school meetings are atleast every other month. Very clean environment.
