OK School, not the best teachers. Decent amount of bullying.

This school is top notch. My child has gone to this school since the first grade. It offers high quality academic programs. Music and art are taught in each grade from 3yr to 8th Grade. Extracurricular programs are diverse and offer children a wonderful assortment of well-rounded activities from sports, drama, ceramics, oratory, chess club, and Community Service Corp. Parents are very involved at Norwood-Fontbonne. The Parent Association is a vibriant and dedicated organization that provides the fundraising and fun and family oriented programs on campus. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers at NFA are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal is kind hearted and knows each child by name. The curriculum is challanging and the school technology is state of the art. It is a great school.

I attended this school from Pre-K through 8th grade some years back. I must agree with other reviewers that the education at Norwood is top notch in some aspects. The level of parent involvement is very high and the availability of music, arts, extracurriculars, etc. is great. However, one place that it falls very short is in the are of diversity. My experience here was that Norwood was lacking in diversity of almost any kind in terms of both studens and faculty. This is not reflective of the 'real world' that we live in (at least as I have experienced it) and I think the students at Norwood deserve better. thus although Norwood remains a top school it is more than 20 yrs behind the times in terms of diversity and multiculturalism.

This school is currently a good buy for the money. I've been around to other private schools to evaluate them for my daughter, and Norwood-Fontbonne Academy gives more 'bang' for your 'educational dollar'. It also provides a spiritual aspect which I felt that my daughter needed. The school is small enough to have your concerns heard and valued. The teachers are usually able to be contacted via e-mail, when you have a concern. I would recommend this school.

This is a great school. My son attends this school and is about to enter third grade. So far the school really takes great pride in every student. The education is great but tough. Homework get ready for it every night of the week. It seemed to start back in kindergarten for my son. Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is overall a wonderful school. The only drawback would have to be the cost, you can't put a price on education, but it's tough to have enough extra put a side for the cost of this school. If you can afford to send your child here do it.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
