The school is really going down hill. I have had my children in the school for almost 8 years & I must say this school year has been by far the worst. The teachers are not like they use to be or should I say "they put on a nice front to ones face". I myself do not recommend putting your child/children in the particular catholic grade school. The class sizes are 30:1...
I've just started high school, and I really wasn't too nervous about it. I'm really well prepared, thanks to Resurrection. I attended this school from kindergarten to eighth grade, and I loved all 9 years. I met my best friends there, and made so many memories. I'll never forget this school, and I owe a lot to it. Please help us out!
I went to Resurrection for eight long, long years. And I can't tell you that I've missed any place more since I graduated in June. I walked those halls with my head held not-so high. I was weird, and socially awkward. But the teachers were kind, the students were friendly, and everything about my grade school experience was absolutely perfect. That school had become my second home, and an always-constant in my life. And I am enjoying my high school experience, but I miss Resso more and more every day. It was a great place to spend my childhood.
We absolutely love this school. Our children are all very different, but Resurrection has found a way to bring out the best in each of them. This school was recently merged with Our Lady of Ransom, and we are a family who came to Resurrection after OLOR closed. We were very uneasy about having to move our kids to a new school and take them away from what they were used to, but once we made the transition, we got ourselves & our children involved in the many activities offered outside of school. We were immediately welcomed and treated like family from day 1. I have nothing negative to say about this school. We have all adjusted well. If I ever have to stop there during the day while the staff is there, I am always welcomed with a smile and warm greeting. Picking a school for your child can be very difficult. Everyone offers the same curriculum as mandated by state law. You have to look for the extras. Are the children challenged, respected & taught to respect others, cared for, are they encouraged to do their best.Where Resurrection is concerned the answer is YES to all. The tuition is worth the investment. Many of the students receive generous scholarships to HS as well!
Resurrection of Our Lord, located in Northeast Philadelphia is a great school. My daughter graduated from there last year.and my son is currently in fourth grade. The school has an outstanding principal, Mrs. Stulz, who cares about each and every one of her students. She is supported by an excellent staff of teachers and parents who volunteer their time. This school has a wonderful music program and is blessed with the best teacher in the diocese, Ms. Galante. She is a remarkable woman who knows each and every student in the school by name and loves them all. My daughter and all of her friends were able to earn scholarships and accommodations upon graduation. This is ultimately because of the wonderful education they have received. I also cannot say enough about Mr. Bendetti, the 8th grade teacher, who not only gets every lesson across with accuracy but is also able to relate to the students and capture their attention. Mrs. Murphy is the 9th grade history teacher and the students come away learning not only history but responsibility. There are many other fantastic teachers including but not limited to: Ms. Devlin, Mr. Braunstein, Mrs. McCooey, Ms. Crich, and Ms. Pfiel.
I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with this school. I was a bit hesitant to invest the tuition money as it required a lot of changes in our families habits to attend Resurrection, but we did it and it is so worth the sacrafices! My kids are thriving in this school! The school has excellent leadership, caring and challenging faculty, and offers many extracarricular activities from scouting to the arts to athletics! I have relatives with children in suburban public schools which are supposed to be so much better but I don't see a difference, if anything my children are ahead! Now that my children are out of the public school system, I would not even think about going back! Thanks Resso for doing what you do best, educating children!
I could not be more pleased with Resurrection of Our Lord School. I have students in the school now, and two who have graduated. I thought my older two students were very average, until they began testing for scholarships and taking entrance exams to private Catholic schools. To my surprise they were accepted at all of the private college prep schools that they applied to, and were awarded numerous scholarship opportunities to various Private and Archdiocesan High Schools. Simply put an average student at Resurrection will excel in any high school cirriculum, as they are well prepared for the challenge. My 2 younger students are also doing well and seem achieve above average scores in their Terranovas year to year, which is a positive reflection on how well the school educates the students. If paying tuition is holding you back from making the investment into a Catholic education, let me be the first to tell you that it is well worth the money! Of course there are sacrafices to be made in order to afford this, but what better investment can a parent make than an investment in their child's future. If you chose Resurrection you will not be disappointed!
I had the opportunity to move several months ago and chose not to so that my children could continue to go to the school that they and I all love, Resurrection of Our Lord! The school offers an excellent and challenging cirriculum and abundant extracarricular activities. There is something for everyone here. If you are in the Rhawnhurst area and looking to be a part of something special, Resurrection School and Parish is your answer! Resurrection is a thrivingschool , thanks to the continous support of the school families and parishoners! If you are considering Resurrection for your child, I would highly recommend setting up a tour and talking to the staff. I don't think you will have any doubt in your mind that your child will recieve a quality education at Resurrection of Our Lord!
My oldest attended Resso and graduated from Judge. Not sure what I paid for ? My two youngest attend now - I am in the process of investigating Charter schools because I am not certain I want to put more money into this school. Over the years my experience is that there are a few teachers that are caring, dedicated and knowledgable and then there are those that for some reason the school just keeps around. I am not really certain what my children are getting out of this school except the religion. In my opinion, unless your children are your average kid then there is nothing a catholic school can offer. If the child is gifted - there are few classes provided in later yeras and god forbid your child needs extra care.....
There are too many children in each class and I can only see the problem getting worse. I think the teachers are very dedicated to the students, but really how many children could they really handle? Also, I wish more parents could become more involved in the actives at school. Yes, I know we all work!
I am a sixth grade student, I love this school, the parishioners are great the teachers are nice, and we recently got a new vice principle, with our old vice principle as our new principle.
I am not as happy as the others who have posted. My daughter is in fourth grade and doing very well, but a lot of that is due to me tutoring her myself. I have not been thrilled with her teachers over the years, her kindergarten teacher was great, but after that, eh.
This school is wonderful. My son is currently a thrid grader in this school and is doing great. All the teacher and faculity are so professional and helpful. I stay in this area just to send my son to resurrection. Would highly recommend this school to anyone!
This school is one of the best. The schools staff is very great. The kids love the school!
Awesome leadership and staff. Parish is great overall. They took us in and made us feel like family. Learning is #1 and activities are abundant.
