I attended St. Peter the Apostle School and graduated in 1990. When I arrived to Philly from Puerto Rico in 1980, I began St. Peter's. I started the first grade and I didn't speak any english and I remember my teacher (which is now the principal) had a lot patience with me. So now 2 of my children attend St. Peter's, and my oldest one graduated this June 2010 and is now at Roman Catholic High School. I know there was no doubt in my mind to send my kids there. Sr. Rose was always there to help us and so where the teachers. It was like having your own family there to help. They know who everyone is by first and last name and what grade, how they're in doing class. The teachers and principal want every child to do their best and they are to make sure they are.
Moving to Philadelphia from the southwest was scary when it came time to pick a school for my two children. Growing up in a close nit community was wonderful and naturely I wanted the same for my kids. I knew I found it at St Peters from the moment I walked into the beautiful building. Bright, open and clean with the students acomplishments and goodwill on the walls. The principal, teachers and staff know every childs name and who their parents are. I never have to worry about the safety of my children while they are at school. Not only are my children recieving the greatest education possible they are getting it from people who truly care.
When the time came for my wife and I to decide where our two girls would attend school, St. Peter the Apostle school met and surpassed all of our expectations. The school is dedicated to providing the tools with which all students can reach full maturity as caring, intelligent and faith-filled individuals. The school building itself, built in 1916, is nearing a hundred years old but the first thing you ll notice is how well maintained it is and how it has kept up with modernization. The hallways and classrooms are all brightly lit which is conducive to an educational environment. The school has numerous dedicated computer laboratories as well as computers in each classroom. We chose St. Peter for our two girls and would highly recommend this school to all parents seeking the same advantage in the investment of the future of their children. -the Gonzalez People
I attended St Peter the Apostle school and gradutated in 1986. I can honestly say that the school has left a lasting impression on me as an adult and as a parent. Ms Armstrong and Ms Meck who are still teaching at St Peter's taught me while I was there, and Sr Rose was actually a teacher at St Peter's then and has now become an OUTSTANDING principal. I now reside in New Castle, DE and work in Bala Cynwyd, PA and everyday I drive my daughter to school at St Peter's. I am most impressed by the caring nature of the teaching staff. I know that when I drop my daughter off in the morning she will be not only in a conducive learning enviornment but in a safe one as well. I know my daughter will carry St Peter's with her the way I have with myself.
St. Peter's has the best Parish, Teachers, Community, Parents and Students. I am glad we found this school for our daughter.
I cannot say enough positive things about St. Peter the Apostle School. The principal, teachers and staff are professional and caring. Every single adult in the school knows my sons' names and treats them with such care. My second grader has some special needs - those needs are met and then some. My kids' teachers really work hard with me to help both boys reach their full potential educationally and spiritually. The school day is a great mix of old fashioned teaching and cutting edge technology and teaching principles. As an educator, I know I cannot find a better place in Philadelphia for my kids to learn and grow. We are truly blessed.
My daughter is currently in eight grade at St. Peter the Apostle, this is a wonderful school with a caring and nurturing environment. The school also has a free-lunch or reduced meals program, the tuition is economical and the education is superior, this school will teach and guide your child into a better understanding of the principals of Christianity and the curriculum will allow your child to prepare for high school and succeed in life. My nephews age 11 and 7 are both students at St. Peter's and both have been there since PreK. We adore this school, the staff as well as students all seem like family. This was a wonderful choice for my family.
I was a student at St. Peter the Apostle School many, many years ago. My daughter just finished her first year at pre-K. She absolutely loved her teachers and was so excited about all her new friends. I think this school is an awesome choice because you can tell everyone there are truly in it for the children. I couldn't feel more satisfied.
I love this school. My son just graduated from the eighth grade and my daughter is now in the pre-k class. They have the most lovely principal and teachers. I also love the school because it is right next door to the St. John Newmann shrine. xoxox
