I am a parent of a first grader here. Last year I was so excited about this school because my child had a great kindergaten teacher and I worked very hard with her to insure success. But this year it seems as if the work isn't challenging enough for my child and it's as if the kindergarten teachers were great yet the first grade teachers are basic and don't really challenge the kids this year like they were challenge last year. Definitely looking to change schools next year because I'm not going to wait for the higher grade teachers to keep getting worse!!! Awesome kindergarten teacher by the name of Mrs. Kamens she had my child well pass a 1st grade reading and math level !!!
The school has really made huge improvements. The staff really goes above and beyond for the children!
My son has been attending this school since kindergarden, which will make 4yrs now as he will be entering 5th grade next year. I am very disappointed with the direction this is going. New administration and staff have changed the school for the worse. The principal has absolutely no interaction with the children and we're approaching the end of her second year. The staff seems to be more concerned with following a curriculum then actually teaching and making sure the children understand the work. I am sad to say that my son will not b attending this school for his final year of elementary. They really need to get their old principal back!
My son started this school a year ago,I have to say I was very pleased with the staff,teachers,and students.My son really had a positive year and I'm looking forward to his last year their being the same!
My Children have been students at Alliance for a year. I am more impressed with how the school is described on paper. Half of the programs they said is offered at the school had been discontinued by the time my children began. The programs I thought my children would be able to benefit from were no longer available. The school is very secure. So secure that you have to make arrangements to pick up your child early by calling the front desk by 10 am or your child will not be released to you. I have not had a problem with getting in contact with my childs teacher. In fact she is the bright side of all of this. Hopefully all of teachers are like this one young lady. Be prepared to work hard at communicating with staff here.
Attendance is very important, principle doesn't allow any discipline problems, teachers really care working one on one with children who needs help, teachers and principle are available for parent conferences with little notice, school is well organized, teachers have patience and well qualified. There is before and after care, school transportation, no conflict among staff, the ficilities are very clean and secure. School policies are inforced properly, you can always get in contact with staff, there are many educational trips for students and their parents. There are many opportunities for parents to volunteer. The children are rewarded for good behavior, grades, attendance, etc. Award ceramonies, playday, talent shows, plays the teachers various culture. My daughter loves the school and all of her teachers love her and are very supportive.
