Overbrook has strong Early Intervention and Early Childhood Programs. The Curriculum used in the Early Childhood Program is excellent and the teachers adapt their teaching strategies and the curriculum to meet the needs of each individual child.

My daughter, age 8,has attended Overbrook since she was 3.It is the most amazing place!Dr.Kappen provides excellent leadership for an experienced, knowledgeable, caring staff of teachers, assistants, therapists and nurses. The class size is small(4 students in my daughter's multiple needs class) and many classrooms have a teacher and an aid.My child is treated with dignity and respect by all the people with whom she comes in contact. The school offers many opportunities for the students, including sports, music, gym, swimming, proms, etc. It truly is a place where the students abilities are recognized, rather than their disabilities.

My son has been going to Overbrook for the past 3 years. He loves it! They have an amazing everyday routine which keeps him interested every minute of the day. The staff is great too. Not a day goes by that he doesn't talk about his teacher at home. Visiting the school just once will warm your heart and give you a sense of security in trusting the knowledgable staff with your child. I wouldn't settle for anything less than Overbrook for my visually impaired child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
