I have had 2 children attend CCA (18 yrs total). CCA has many children of teachers and stay at home moms who are able to be at the school daily. This group emprises what is known as the Calvary Clique . These children receive special attention/rewards, while others are overlooked, despite deserving recognition. This is heartbreaking to children and their parents. If your child happens to be in the clique , he/she will have a great experience, even be guaranteed a starting position on team sports. For years, I have overlooked the favoritism and judgmental attitudes at CCA in return for the Biblical teaching. The problem is, most of the staff doesn t practice what they preach, and children are left confused. Being a small private school, CCA follows its own code of rules. It was heart breaking removing my children from the only school they have known, but I now wish I would ve made this decision yrs ago. Since my children transferred schools this year, I have realized how much CCA lacks academically and extracurricularly. I am now confident that my children will be more prepared for not only college, but for the world outside of the Calvary Clique .

I sent my oldest there several years ago, and when it was time to send my youngest, I decided to send him somewhere else. The vice principal is unbelievably rude, her attitude is appalling. If you are not in the 'Calvary Clique' then you are an outsider. This school is certainly not what it used to be, nor what the wonderful headmaster intended it to be.

Both my children go to this school and love it. I do too. Excellent academics and great teachers and staff. Would not change for any reason. Biblical teaching is spot on.

Solid spiritual education, but lacking academically. The philosophy is "spiritual excellence, academic proficiency". Both my husband and I went to Ivy League universities and we wanted a strong academic environment for our children. CCA does not offer that, BUT your child will leave with a strong biblical foundation. Since we provide that at home, we put our children in a local public school with a better academic program.

The school is wonderful. Small class sizes. The teachers are always willing to talk to the parents about any concerns or issues. They will go the extra mile to help your child learn. Its not just the teacher that gets involved. It's the principal, asst. principal, counselors, tutors ect. The whole staff. You can see & even feel the love, concern and care that they have for the children. I don't worry about my daughter being safe. I know she is. I Know she is being taught good Christian morals & values. She loves learning about God and our Saviour Jesus.

CCA has provided an excellent education that not only challenges our two sons to be the best they are capable of being, but does so in a way in which they are learning that all of life id to glorify Christ. I am grateful for the emphasis the school places on having a personal relationship with Christ (as opposed to a list of rules).

We are truly blessed to have our two children enrolled at Calvary Christian Academy. The teaching and support staff are second to none. As a special education teacher who works in dozens of schools in Bucks County as a consultant, I know there is not another school/faculty that can hold a candle to this place. My children are in a secure, loving environment where they are growing in their spirituality everyday. The teachers have consistent, positive teaching strategies in place which encourage responsible behavior and cooperation. We are beyond pleased with CCA and our girls will continue there through graduation.

I find this school to be wonderful. The cirriculum follows along through the Bible, The chikdren learn so much, and there are plenty of extra curicular activities for the children.

Calvary is a good choice for parents who are interested in helping their children grow in the Lord, but education wise i would avoid it. I went to Calvary in 2002-2003 it was fun and the kids are nice. However i am a extremly good student and i was not challenged. One of my biggest personality flaws, is when i am not challenged i lose interest and start to hate it. I switched to another public school and was a little bit behind in English and Science classes. I had to work hard to get caught up and i am glad i made up all the work before i went to college!

This is a great school for a child to thrive and learn in a Christian atmosphere.

This year is my children's 3 year at CCA. Calvary is a great school spiritually and show it in everything they do, including sports. The coaches uses sports as a ministry tool for others. They have great academics and they care about the child as a whole and not just the grades they produce. It would be nice if they had more classes per grade to lower the student-teacher ratio. My kids enjoy school and they always say they feel safe going there. I think it is one of the few Christian private schools in the city of Philadelphia that has a good variety of sports programs. My children are in 6th and 7th grade and they already know they want to go to college. I don't think they would have thought that much about it in their previous school.

Due to marraige/relocation my children no longer attend this school. God should be part of their learning education which my children & I miss but continue ourselves through daily devotions, prayer & music. They do enjoy the after school activities at public that Calvary did not offer. I enjoy being part of Home&School which Calvary did not offer. It allows me to be more connected to their day. I would not hesitate to re-enroll my children if we relocate back to the area. Teachers & staff are exceptional! The values taught are great. God Bless.

The teachers and administrators of this school do their very best to meet the educational, spiritual, and emotonal needs of each child as an individual and beloved child of God. They really care about these students, not only their scores or how good they can make the school look which is unfortunately the case in another Christian school that they had attended. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have two of my children graduate from this school and go on to college and their future with confidence. I really do not believe that either of them would have gone on to college if they had not come to Calvary. This is a wonderful school where your child will be loved!

Calvary Christian Academy for being a private school has too many children in the classrooms. I believe that in order for children to achieve the classromms must be smaller.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
