Imani Educational Circle Charter School

As a former founding teacher of Imani I would like to applaud the educational foundation on which they stand. Dr. Fulton had a vision and has embraced it sharing it with many that enter the doors of the school. While employed there I was not just a teacher but a family member. Administration was very supportive overall. I would loe to go back as an administrator. Keep up the good work! God Bless. Mallama Watson

OMG Im a In the seventh grade at imani. Trust me its not the school i want to prefer for any one.This is a good school but its more worried about teaching us african culture than anything but does give us most of the skills we need for high school. But i do think that some teaches could worry about teaching us in a way that we understand the work thats given in the books better than hoping we just get it right off the back. But thruthfully i love imani its like having a loving family.Not saying that i dont have a family at home they are just wonderful teaches,students and friends. I know for sure ill miss almost everbody but it will never be the same when i leave. I just hope to see everyone in the future.Class of 2012 AYE WE GET IT POPPIN! LEGGO!!!!!

I think Imani is one of the average charter schools in the city. Fortunately, I am pleased with my childs progress. However, I would like to see some of the teachers present themselves in a more professional manner. Also, I think some of the teachers are not taking their responsibilities as serious as they should. Children should not be tested for the first time in Feb. on an assignment that was completed and graded in November. Also, my child has yet to present a science project that was turned in on time in Jan. I have no idea what grade was earned and it's March! What is the point of the homework web site? As a parent, I think some of the teachers over compensate in an effort to make parents think they're on task; when in actuality they are unorganized and confused. Teachers please proof-read assignments that are sent home.

I been a student at Imani since kindergarten Iam now in the 8th grade class of '09'. And I say Imani has great teacher's how care about the students and do there best to help the student's proceed in life. Imani also prepare the students academic wise. They also Prepare students for High school.

I am actually a graduate of Imani back in 2003 and I would greatly recommend this school. As a student still on my journey now in college I can t help but to look back and remember all that Imani had done in order to help me not only as an African-American male, but some one who wished to succeed in life and still is. Even though Imani is an afro-centric school I was more than prepare for high school when I graduated from 8th grade. I went from Imani to Cardinal Dougherty High School a catholic school and I was more than prepared for their academics especially math, and at the end of my freshman year I had nothing lower than a B. They are also credited for much of my social skills, achievement, and talents. Imani was more than a school it was a family. I owe it to Imani for my success in poetry in which I am working on getting three books published and many other things. I am also still in contact with many of my friend from my graduating class and I believe they would agree with me when I say Imani did a terrific job in teaching and raising us as young African American children. Yes Imani is a cultural school and I commend them for that, and thanks to them I still remember the Black National Anthem by heart. If anything I am proud to say I am a product of Imani Education Circle Charter School

My child started at their pre-school at age 4 shes now in the 1st grade at age 7 still growing strong in the imani family.

My daughter has attended Imani since second grade; she is now in the fifth grade. Imani has given my daughter a fantastic education, social experience, cultural experience, and allowed her to further develop her previous creative and performing arts talents. The teachers have done a great job at communicating with me about her achievements, strengths and weaknesses. They are honest and I respect that. The administration LISTENS to the concerns of the parents (I ve had some that were well addressed). The staff is PROFESSIONAL and CURTEOUS. Not every school operates that way. I am more than pleased with Imani's growth and I have faith in their future. My child is so bright and I am certain that she will leave Imani with the necessary tools needed to perform exceptionally in high school. My husband is an educator and I work in social services. We are more than happy to recommend Imani.

Imani is a great school and has increased its standards from a few years after their doors opened. I have two children attending Imani and am impressed with each level of learning. My oldest child has just been accepted to Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts and have received raved reviews from the admiistrative staff regarding what he has learned in all his school years thusfar. I am also pleased on the level of learning our culture. Where else could our children receive that? Good job Imani

Imani is a great school for exposing your child to their rich cultural heritage. There are some behavioral issues that need to be addressed. The curriculum is rigorous. Students have several hours of homework to complete nightly. Imani promotes parental involvement with back to school nights.

I have two daughters in this school, in different grades. The problem with this school is that it has not set any academic goals or they have they fall short of them each year. The school is more dedicated on teaching heritage than education. I would not recommend this school to any parent concern in their child's academic future.
