I just want to say that New Media Tech is a good School, My daughter has excelled on so many levels since she has been there. She enjoys going and talks positive about her school which she has never did at any school she has been in. I like the communication level between the teachers & parents. All of the teachers also have degrees which you dont see all the time in Charter Schools. I'm sure the school recieved some of it's rating on being unorganized and so forth. Any institution just opening will have that until all of the querks are figured out. Don't be discourage by the ratings go see for yourself.

OMG! where do I start?! I am so glad I won't be spending my junior&senior year here. I wasted 2 years of my high school experience here. This school is like a middle school we do everything they do & now they are sharing the same building as if it's not small enough. The rooms that they show you during your tour, we dont even use, we're not even allowed on the gym floor. They are frauds! The highest technology we use is broke-run down computers whos internet cuts off constantly. We do nothing at all. Thinking of it now I can't remember anything I learned in that school. This is not even half of it. They "so called" prepare us for college. SIKE! This school is weak. Teachers argue in front of students & students do whatever they please & almost everyday after school students are always getting beat up by other schools and they do nothing and all we do is projects and thats basically our grade for the year. & when you try to transfer from this school they "so called" misplaced your child's paperwork. & Im so sick of that stupid circle they have us do every morning, telling us to say stuff when we don't know what they mean. To this day I am still so mad at my mom for sending me here!

The school has challenges, but with the new CEO and teaching staff the changes are improving the overall schools and its programs. A good example for this year would be the Senior Project. The Senior Project was designed to be compare to college level research (a mini-dissertation or thesis). Upon see this years project and comparing it to the last 3 years, I see the potential for what the future of the school will be (a very successful academically project base school similar to other successful project base school through-out the nation). This school has a strong middle school program and an improving high school program. 2010/2011 school year was hard tor this school but overall the students were challenged by the academic programs, and no teacher left during the school year.

I Attend Here And I Just Want To Say, Do Not Send Your Child Here Please, And Children, Dont Ask To Come. You Will Become So Lazy For There Is Lack Of Teachers, Space, Matterials And Education. Also Some Of The Teachers Discrimanate. 3 White Teahers Have Been Fired In The 10th Grade Alone For No Apparent Reason, And The Black Teachers Get Looked Down Upon By Some Of The White Teachers. I Just Had To Post This Before Some Parent Made The Mistake Of Sending Their Child To -New Media Charter High School!-

I discovered that the orientation for the middle school student was held at the high school location, which was very different from the middle school facility. It was like night and day. The high school is so nice and put together. The doors, floors, walls and the over-all is what a parent expects to view when a school tells you that they want the very best for their students. On the other hand. The middle school is almost the opposite of what I expected. The building is old and unrestored; chipped paint on the ceilings, old materials, shortage of books and activities. These are the matters that concern me a bit. There are heating, flood and teacher/student issues. This is my daughter's first year, and my expectations are on the low.

I have been at this school since 9th grade and i dont recommend this school for anyone to go to. The teachers drop like flys and there is no structure. We spend most of ou days running around and playing in the hall way it was fun in the begining but now it just got to the point that we want to learn. They have girls with very short skirts and boys with disrespectful language to the young girls. I strogly recommend your child to go to this school your child would not have a future if the came here and college would be out the question. This is from a students point of veiw

i am a 9th grade student and i think that this school is very unorganized. we dont have serious classes like pe instead we have african dance classes this is my first year and im already trying to leave its because we always have free periods and we always have time to roam around the buliding. this school doesnt have real security guards we only have 1 and the people that are trying to protect us are the staff , new media has a bigger building and they dont teach you things like business, culinary, fashion desgin etc. things that encourage you to be somthing when you get older. i would not recomend this school for anybody it needs lots of work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a student at New Media and I am in the 11th grade.. I have been to this school since 9 th grade and have seen 5 teachers all together leave in the middle of the year its ridiculous. We dont have any technology and the good teachers that we do have our leaving because they dont Get paid enough :( That saddens me because I built wonderful relationships with each of my teachers and after a while they just drop out.. I don't blame them though.. Out of 7 periods we are only having class in 4 of them the rest of the time we just hoarse around and play..Instead of finding us more classes the new Director of Education- Dr. Tomsen is to busy handing out detentions and peppermints and collecting earrings its not organized and it needs a change..quick

This is my sons second year at this school. I wish I had picked a different school but he is going to 11th grade next year and I am probably going to have to supplement his education by finding outside sources. It is not that they don't learn anything, because they do. It has more to do with the leadership or lack of leadership at the school. The school is very disorganized and seems to change rules and regulations each time adminstration changes. The school also only has one teacher per subject for each grade level, so if a teacher leaves or is absent then the students are left with no teacher for that subject. I do love the computer based learning because it does keep the kids engaged but I have yet to see my son with a text at home since they use handouts.
