Are there any schools for my son with Autism near 19149?

I'm moving from Chicago, IL to Philadelphia, PA very soon. But I'm not sure where about there will be a school for my 5 yr old son with Autism. Does anyone know any schools near Roosevelt Rd and Stevens St. Thanks

Nebinger is a wonderful school and they have autistic support program there. My daughter attends that school and she has A's & B's wonderful compared to the schools my other children have attended. Wonderful atmosphere too. I think that this is one of the best in the entire Philadelphia area. I have a son who is 9 with autism. He attends Webster elementary and they have a wonderful autistic support program. Good luck!81639

I am really getting discouraged. My son is in the 7th grade and has an IEP. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum last year. He is having a tough time learning in school and I just feel lost. He has had an IEP since 4th grade and has had little improvement. I need to know of any schools to send him to for learning, any outside programs for help. Please help me. Hi I read an older post of yours regarding a good school in Philly for your son w Autism. I am in the same boat now....searching for a grade school for my son w autism. How did you make out? Any info you have would be great. Ty76102

I am not located in Philadelphia, but would suggest using the "Find a School" feature here at Greatschools. You'll find the link in the green bar up above. Once you find a school in the area you mentioned, give them a call to discuss your son's needs.
Does you son have an IEP in place already? Has he attended pre-K where you currently live? What kind of accommodations is he currently receiving?
You can also contact the local Autism Society of America: http://www.autism-society.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pennsylvania to check out resources in the area you're interested in. They should be able to give you helpful information regarding schools, support groups, etc.
