Last year in this school - moving to a better school district that's about learning and not so much about tests/homework. Buses overcrowded, lunches are thrown together in tote which gets squashed and left at end of day cause they can't get until done with all work - bus numbers are called over loud speaker and if room is loud kids miss bus (this is only k-1st, which is crazy, can't go to school with their siblings - how sad) NO PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - teacher has kids seats into groups of four and if all four aren't considered good (only one table picked) then not picked for POPCORN PARTY IN FRONT OF ENTIRE CLASS - how sad, when volunteering had to watch four kids eat and smell snack in front of 20 some other kids - if you sat at table with other bad kids you never got one??? Crazy! MOVING asap
I think Whitehall elementary school is great. They make an individual care plan for each kid to make sure they are challenged. My daughter is challenged everyday and her teacher is very active with the parents. The only complaint is the school lunch program, which I feel is unhealthy.(nacho supreme should not be a meal). Overall, I feel my duaghter is learning appropriate material and is getting a great education.
My child is not challenged by peers or her teacher. she complains others copy her papers and are so loud she gets headaches. there is no playground equipment AT ALL and the gym is shared by muliple classes the one or two times a week they actually have it. school lunches are not nutritious, busses are overcrowded, and we wish we could move.
