I agree with the others, but think this school deserves an update. Things have been happening to require the school to only have 1 kindergarten class and 1 first grade. As a parent I don't know their reasoning, but have been affected by this info. Because we were new and didn't know you had to stand in line at 7am on February 1st to get a place in the one kindergarten, my daughter spent her first school year at Pivik Elementary and had to switch schools as a first grader. No it wasn't easy or fun getting used to 2 schools in 2 years!!! Regency Park is a great school, but if you are new here be informed! Also recently there has been talk of Regency Park closing and moving all the students to Pivik (where we had a great experience - I'm not slamming Pivik) because they are building a new school building for Pivik. Personally I want my kids to go to the brand new school building, but some parents are up in arms about the change. The great thing about this is it has turned a sleepy PTA into a unified front of T shirt wearers and Email senders, working together to "Save Our School." Send your children to Regency Park Elementary. They have great teachers and administrators.
Regency Park is truly a quality neighborhood school. You really feel like your child is a part of a big family. The teachers and staff are truly committed to each child's education.
Wonderful school. Major plus is that it is smaller than the four other elementary schools in this district. I am happy to see that the test scores are very high.
Regency Park Elementary is excellent with a very strong community of involved parents, caring and excellent teachers, and bright students. Because of the reputation of this school as being the smallest elementary school in the Plum school district and one of the strongest, many families are moving into the nearby neighborhood because of the strength of the school. I moved from a very nice street in Penn Hills so that my children could be in this school district and I am so excited, especially with the recent renovations and additions made to the middle school and senior high schools. Look at this district's report card and it is clear to see that Plum is definitely one of the top school districts in Southwestern PA.
