Great school in a great upcoming community. Outstanding teachers in this Junior High that are not only professional but extremely well educated. Very safe area and school district is becoming one of the top in the east suburbs. Easy to find brand new and existing housing in the borough.

I was very disappointed with this middle school. My son went from being an elementary student that excelled at the top of his class to failing 5 classes in 7th grade. One teacher got involved and worked closely with him and he did pass the class; however the remaining teachers were apathetic, and his Reading teacher was downright hostil! The guidance counselor made promises of involvement that were never kept. I understand that entering 7th grade is a big adjustment for the student, and my son did have issues and just didn't want to be at school. But I do feel the teachers and guidance counselor should have worked more closely with my son and I to try to find answers and solutions to the issues instead of just writing him off. Hopefully 8th grade will be a better year, or I will pull him from Plum School District!

I attended this school a few years ago and the teachers were extremely self centered, they need to focus on the education of the students, not themselves. Too much attention was payed to the special needs students, where as very little was payed to the average and/or above average ones.

We moved to Plum when my child was starting 7th grade at Oblock. It was an easy transition. The teachers were caring and very involved with their students. The amount of clubs and activities is amazing. If there is a problem, staff and administrators get right on it and are quick to resolve it. My Gifted child was challenged. A nurturing, safe environment.

Would not recommend this school. Teachers need to worry more about their students needs and less on themselves. My children are Honors Students but not because of what they learned at OBlock.

My daughter had a wonderful experience attending Oblock. It is an exceptional school for all levels of students. My daughter is currently in the National Honors' Society, and she counts her years at Oblock as some of the best of her life. That speaks volumes about a middle school!

Staff is only there to help themselves and students with remedial needs. Any student that is an achiever is on their own.

My son haa been attending Plum Borough School District his whole life. I am very pleased with the quality of A E Oblock. Students may take part in all kinds of musical programs such as, band, orchestra, chorus, or just general music. Oblock offers a series of sports activites such as Cross Country, Track, Football, and girl/boy soccer teams. Oblock students excel in English/Reading and in math because of their abilty based classes. Oblock has an Enriched English, English Skills, and Reinforced English departments. The math department offers the same, Advanced Pre-Algebra, Pre-Algebra, basic math, and reinforced math for 7th graders. 8th graders may take part in Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, and Reinforced math. Oblock also offers a gifted program or G.A.T.E. for students with an IQ exceeding 140. Oblock also offers all sorts of extra-cirricular activities.
