I attended Fort Couch some years back. The school offers a poor educational experience. The classes are to large and disorganized. The curriculum was unfocused and did not concentrate on the fundamentals. The teacher were of poor quality, and seemed lazy and overwhelmed at times. There seemed to be a lack of accountability and no leadership from the administration. There was also allot of bullying and the teachers took no steps to intervene and in some cases precipitated the behavior. You would think that with this school being in a more affluent area that parents would get more involved and demand changes. There seemed to more of a culture of not wanting to "rock the boat".
Fort Couch Middle school is probably the best middle school you could send your child to! Not only is upper st. clair school district rated number 1 in W. PA it also has the best staff! I STRONGLY recomend sending your child to Fort Couch Middle School!
Principal and staff are hard to deal with. They are condescending and totally inflexible. Teachers are not held accountable for their behavior. Gross misconduct of some students is tolerated while other students are harassed for minor infractions.
