I was actually one of the higher ratings before. The school was far better prior to their recent expansion. It feels like some staff are nonchalant and often don't know what is going on with the now larger population of students. Socioeconomic diversity has also declined. Leadership is lacking. There are many great teachers here though.

Falk is a school like no other. Each day is great because there is no other school that I would want to be at. The Middle school focuses on connecting subjects together to get a better understanding of learning and a community by going to an environmental center for 4 days, 3 nights. Now as an 8th grader I am very sad to make my departure but one of the best things about Falk is that you can come back and visit at any time.

Excellent school! Our daughter is graduating this June and has been there since kindergarten. Low ratio of students to teachers. Teachers take the time to understand each child's learning needs. The director does know every child as does every teacher in the facility. A really nice community spirit. No tolerance for bullying in any way. Very little social pressure about wearing certain clothes (no uniform required) or owning certain items even among older kids. Diverse student population. A great place.

I graduated from Falk School last year, and just visited the new building. I have to say that I really really like it- it combines the same community aspect that drew me to Falk with a larger building that we needed :) Academics are very good, and children are exposed to diversity at such a young age, that it's never an issue

Was once a diverse community of many cultures as many of the Pitt professors kids go here. Was almost totally white by the time that my daughter graduated from here. This school has K-8. Good instruction, small class size

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
