The Cyert Center is an amazing place. The Center is not just a day care center, but is a place where the children and educators work together in partnership. The school has adopted the Reggio Emilia approach, which is an educational program from Italy. It really works. My children have had such amazing experiences at Cyert that I would not have thought to do myself. Where else would you find children as young as six months old getting experience using natural materials, such as clay? Each class develops long-term themes that they focus on throughout the year. One class worked on environmental issues - culminating in a meeting with Al Gore. Another class is studying architecture using nearby buildings. A third class developed a long history of bigfoot. If you have the opportunity to place your child in this program, you'd be crazy to pass it up.
