NC continues its decline due to poor leadership at the school and district. My taxes go up and my kid still can't read.

I too have worked at the school for a long time. This past year was one of the best since Dr. Flicker retired. There were high standards for both students and staff. I once again am proud to say that I teach at North Coventry.

All 3 of our children have attended North Coventry. Our oldest attended a local private school prior to coming to North Coventry. The move to NC was the best move we ever made and we should have done it sooner. Our children have been blessed with excellent teachers. They have been challenged both academically and creatively.

I agree with the last reviewer. The school is a perfect place for those who underperform but for the overachievers there is little if any guidance. The "gifted" program consists of a one-on-one meeting for 30min once a week, and your child needs to be near genius to participate. Is that the same time that is spent with those who underachieve? I think not!

Before I moved to Pottstown and researched this school, North Coventry had a rating of 9. I see why they are a 5 now. All three of my children have attended North Coventry elementary and I feel that they can do more academically for the children. I feel that they don't challenge the children enough to learn. My oldest has since left the school and I now have a 4th grader and a kindergartner in the school. I feel like the school only does just enough to get by. I am also disappointed that they are working on there third principal within a year and a half.

My boys transfered here from Caley in Upper Merion. So far my 2nd grader hasn't been challenged at all. And my 3rd grader is at level. (he was needing extra help anyway) But as for challenging and expanding my childrens minds, I feel they are lacking. Would like to see them challenge the kids more and expect more out of them. Kids are smart, and they could benefit from being challenged.

This was my daughter's first year here. Having transferred in from a private school I was pleasantly suprised with how well run the school was. The teachers were available and the guidance counselor was incredible. My only negative comment was there was not as much feed back regarding my daughters progress. She is a good student so I think a lot more emphasis is placed on students who maybe struggling. Overall it is a great place to send your children.

The facilities and teachers are nice but that's it. Send your kids to Wyndcroft in Pottstown where they will learn much more and learn to love learning and be challenged and nurtured. Too many kids enter NCE not knowing how to read or write and if your kid knows that already, they will be bored for years until they can be divided into groups based on ability or until your kid loses interest in school and ends up falling behind into the growing mainstream. The teachers are can only work with what they have as far the the students who require all their attention to bring up to speed. It's a good school if your kid has special needs though, not gifted but is behind. They will really work with them. A lot of the resources go towards those kids. It's better than other public schools in the local area though.

I have been disappointed by the lack of support for gifted and advanced education in kindergarten.

This is a great school. The principal is dynamite. The counselors are great. Art, Music and other activities are readily available. The lunch menu is something that the children can live with.
