I also regret moving to this school district. Our son was happy and thriving in his last school. We moved here mid-year, and his grades dropped significantly. He cried every night because he was having trouble making friends and being bullied. This new school year, he is doing better socially, but still has problems with bullying on the school bus. And his teacher? She can't seem to return a phone call or an e-mail. We are required to preorder breakfast a full month in advance. He can't just go in one morning and get breakfst if he's hungry. My son requires an epi-pen at school, so he is not allowed on field trips unless i can physically go also. They don't want the liability of administering and epi-pen, which only punishes my son because I am not able to attend these functions. They're not even pleasant when you call in. Just crabby people with limited funds and large class sizes. My husband and I are very frustrated with this school. We are considering moving already.

While academically you may get what you bargain for, don't expect to get much else. The class size here is significantly larger than what you will be led to believe if you look on line. My daughter has 29 kids in her class, and the noise level can be a distraction. I get the same information from other parents as well. As with any school, there are some great teachers, and there are some that leave a lot to be desired. There is little parent involvement - you will only know what comes home in your child's folder. You cannot volunteer in your child's class, and you are in a lottery for trips. My daughter had two last year, and I wasn't chosen for either one. I would say that overall, it's a very average school. My husband and I regret moving into this school district.
