My child is lazy when it comes to school. The teachers do not allow him to slack off, or get away with his million exuses. This has improved my sons reading, math and science knowlage thre-fold, since starting in this school.

Without a doubt it attempts to provide a meaningful education to all of it's students. A well maintained set of buildings and a fully qualified staff of educators and support personnel are available for educating all who enter.

PAHS is famous for its school spirit and pride. Both the teachers and the students work hard together everyday for the common goal of student success.

I have no idea what the parent that submitted something earlier is speaking about. I have no idea what schools he/she is trying to compare the curriculum to but PAHS curriculum is much better than most schools in the area. Blue Mt. and possibly a private school is maybe better, maybe. If a student is struggling, the teachers are very easy to get a hold of, especially with classroll.com and you as a parent being able to monitor your student's progress. I've had a son go through the school and currently have another there now. They succeed if they want to succeed. There is something for every student if they want to get involved. I've never had a problem contacting a teacheer when needed. Their extracurricular activities are fine and they have many AP courses

Teacher like to singe people out. The pick favorites by what sport or club you are in. I also have to agree with the lunch thing the Parent said and by the time you get your lunch the period is over! I do have to say that pahs is like a family. The students in my classes have gone to JSC and DHH with me and the teachers remember my parents and siblings who have gone through because nothing changes. At my school while you are going through it you can complain but I know that I am happier here than I would be at any other school in the area. Roll Tide!

The classes, whether AP or general, are not kept up to standards compared to other schools in the area. They do not go into detail. Also, it is impossible for the students to get a hot lunch because of the waiting time in line, and more often than not do I see students being bullied by other students. The teachers are hard to contact when a student is struggling and it seems as if the students are counted as a number, not a student.

Personally, I love this school. I am a freshmen here, and it is the best experience of my life! Our school have about 11 or 12 AP classes, many advanced/honors courses and many other courses. Our athletic dept. is also great. The Pottsville Crimson Tide were the District 11 Champs. this yr.
