Northeast Middle School is generally considered the best of Reading's four middle schools. It has a challenging curriculum and has generally high expectation of students from the faculty. There is also a full array of extracurricular activities, and our daughter takes advantage of them with field hockey, chorus, NJHS, and softball. Parental involvement is sketchy given NEMS has to deal with the reality of existing in an urban environment.

I think that the teachers are doing what they can, considering the student population. I especially admire the guidance staff. They are so caring and put so much effort into helping the students. We are all very lucky to have them working so hard for us.

I wish that the teachers and administration were more interested in making school a good education experience...rather than checking the color of the shoe laces and the whether or not the students have collars on their shirts. Teaching tolerance, patience and good work technics from parents and teachers would make life so much easier for all. Northeast was a great school at one time. We marched to class and the auditorium and indeed the best time of our lives. Good quality from parents, teachers and students is so hard to find. So sorry to see this happen in our country. Everybody must want to learn and keep learning all their lives; everybody seems to think they know everything. Keep trying!
