I think the school and teachers there do a very good job with the students. I like it better than the bigger schools.

BHS is a decent school but gets the least amount of funding in the KCSD, which is why it lacks in certain areas. The community also doesn't have as much participation and doesn't involve its children in school activities.

Great school in a great community, although it is very small with a lack of diversity in its programs.

Not a parent, but a rescent graduate. The school had a severe lack of technological sciences- as well as counselors, community support, and school funds. However, they do have a very dedicated staff- and the teachers, overall, are very caring.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
