The School in Rose Valley is the living, breathing reality of everything I've read in the educational and psychological academic research regarding what makes for an outstanding education. Organizations in the future need people who are collaborative, strong in social and emotional skills, independent thinkers, intrinsically motivated, creative, and self-motivated learners. After viewing nearly fifty different schools across the country (and after experiencing School in Rose Valley as a parent), I can think of no other school that does a better job of cultivating these qualities than School In Rose Valley. The school celebrates childhood, and the children are truly filled with joy and wonder. I can without a doubt say that The School In Rose Valley is truly unique. I can think of no other place I'd rather partner with in bringing up my children to be fulfilled, confident, happy, and highly motivated learners.

This is a unique school, a small place where all the teachers (every single teacher in the entire school) knows and cares about each child, where kids learn to love learning and develop both self-sufficiency and social skill that will serve them well throughout their lives. My two children have thrived here. Many people who work on education (I'm a college professor) send their kids to SRV, because the mission of the school is allied with what those of us who think all the time about education tend to think is right for elementary school. The school serves preschool through 6th grade. If you are looking for a place that will nurture your child(ren) and will encourage them, will let them learn to love the natural world, to respect each other, and will help them to open themselves to a lifetime of learning, you need to visit and see for

Excellent! An incredible school with unbelievably dedicated teachers, administrators and parents. Grads stay involved b/c the place is so respectful of children. A progressive community school with some focus on academics, but moreso on social skills, community involvement and social justice. There is a strong emphasis on literacy skills. The curriculum is integrated in all subjects. There is extra support for learning in different ways. A wonderful, nurturing school where learning is fun! My children look forward to each school day with enthusiasm. The teachers really know each child. If you are looking for a progressive k-6 school in the Philadelphia area, you will not find one better.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
