I graduated from Spring-Ford last year, and although it is crowded, the new addition really does space things out. There are enough seats for everyone at lunch, and if there wasn't changes would certainly be made to accommodate them. The guidance department made it seem like college was more challenging to get into than it actually was for me, which was just a motivation to work harder. The majority of teachers are more than willing to do whatever it takes to help their students succeed and even the older teachers are still open to new suggestions. The honors and AP classes are though provoking and challenging. Arguable, a few of the AP classes are more challenging then some of the college classes I am currently enrolled in. The district is also very conscientious of keeping an excellent program for music & fine arts, as well as extracurricular activities, throughout budget cuts. Overall, it's a great place for kids to get an education.

Anyone here who doesn't like Spring-Ford, simply doesn't like the American public school system. Spring-Ford does the best that is can with the money it is given and, considering everything, does a very good job. There are an endless amount of extracurricular activities, from sports to five choirs to academic teams. The class choices are also excellent. The school has great special needs and gifted programs. Classes can be taken to challenge students, including advance English, Science, and Math classes, as well as AP cources in every subject. There are also a wide variety of electives to choose from for classes, whether you prefer Family Consumer Science, Art, Construction Systems, or Finance. The school also has great facilities, even though it is currently under construction. The only issue is that, with recent budget cuts, the school is in jeopardy of losing some of the programs that make it so unique.

My son graduated from Spring-Ford High School in 2008. He received a great education and additionally he was given the academic and emotional support when he needed it. My husband and I were so happy that we moved to this area and our son was lucky enough to attend school in the Spring-Ford district.

As a current Sophomore at Spring-Ford Senior High I am not satisfied with the school at all. I think it's over crowded, and very difficult to navigate. Also the teachers aren't exactly friendly. The school is so overcrowded that I have had to stand through my lunch period. Yes, I know they are building an addition on to the school, but rumor has it it's only for Seniors. Yes, it will spread the school out more, but it also means a greater walking distance between classes, and one other way to get lost. Overall Spring-Ford Senior High isn't my top choice as a High School.

This school is what you make of it as is most public high schools. You must be your child's advocate. Our children have gotten a very good if not excellent education because we kept them in Honors classes. Track 1 classes are not challenging enough and the teachers are not as good as the Honors teachers. Our daughter is at a 'Top 50' liberal Arts college and is doing better than many of the kids who went to 30-40K/year private prep schools. She was well prepared for the rigors of college. The guidance department is very weak, nice but weak. They have no idea how competitive college is today and what it takes to get into a competitive school. Fortunately many of the teachers did and were helpful. I would like to see our PSSA scores rise. Lots of excuses by the administration and school board but not much action.

We just moved to the arae and my duaghter is currently a freshman in the Spring Ford School. I am very impressed about the school, especially the teacher attention to the students and the leadership of the principal.

When my daughter was applying for colleges, the principal looked me in the eye and said she had 'fallen through the cracks here'. It's too big, too generic. The extracurricular activities are sports, sports and sports. The guidance department is too busy to be useful, the teachers often apathetic. The grading system is difficult, and the dropout rate high. It is a too big district with a too big feel.
