Sellersville Elementary School

This is a top notch school. The Principal, teachers and staff are very knowledgeable and caring. There is a high focus on academics and developing into a healthy responsible individual that cares for fellow classmates. There are many opportunities for students across the spectrum to have his or her individualized need met.

I ahve 3 children enrolled at Sellersville. It appears that their reading skills are particullary emphasized and have grown remarkably. Thus far the teachers have been very good and responsible to my children's specific needs. The experience has been good. The school is located on a lot of land. Although from the front it appears to be rather small, out back there is a lot of room for recess and physical activities.

We are very disappointed in the way the school has handled our son who transferred into the school from an excellent school in Souderton School District. He was doing wonderful there. They put no proactive steps or measures into place to aid him in his transition until he showed problems in adjusting to being the 'new kid', their was no tolerance for small infractions even though he was unsure of all the rules. Now we are afraid he had been labeled because too little was done too late. We are also questioning the ethics and experience of the instructional support teacher involved who seems to want to push him off because he has ADHD and some real work will have to be done for him to assimulate to all of his changes. It has been our experience that she is more interested in trying to gather information to try and have him transferred. We have had to take further steps in order to protect his and our rights. We considering trying move back out of the district within two years turnaround and back to Souderton.

Sellersville has won my esteem. My daughter tranferred to SE from another great elementary school in the district. She was very concerned about the switch. Every effort has been made to make the transition smooth and very comfortable. The principle knows her name as does the school counselor. Her teacher is of the highest quality and I appreciate all that she does for my child. I have no qualms about highly recommending this school to those who are searching for quality education.

Sellersville Elem has an excellent teaching staff. They make learning fun, and that makes the kids eager to learn. It is a win win situation. The learning support (mrs. noonan) & guidance (mrs.coleman) is like none other. They truly go above and beyond to make the kids feel so special. They are an asset to our school.

The parents and community have settled for mediocrity for so long in this school district and the union mentality of the faculty, particularly the more senior ones it results in a bland inferior product. Look at the test score results, ES is at the bottom. For example, one senior faculty person who was so bad he refused to give the children homework because he was too lazy to grade. He used the excuse that it was too much to put on the parents and children to assign them homework. I demanded he assign my son homework. He remained in his job for years and the students had to endure him, all the while he's protected by the tenure rules. Fortunately, has retired since. Simply look at the success rate of the average Pennridge student and the performance results on the tests scores. Inferior and substandard for the county and surrounding areas and Sellersville is at the bottom of the Pennridge schools. Sorry we settle for so little. Certainly,the community is to blame by allowing the power brokers to shortchange the kids - that includes the school board, faculty and the apathetic parents. Faculty should be required to take a test to make sure they are still competent! Every five years!
