We enrolled our son in Musser for their reading program. His first teacher, Mrs. Moses, assisted his adjustment to a new school and peers with great oversight. She addressed my concerns and contacted us with hers. His 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Davis, is also great. She finds balance between discipline, teaching, and comraderie with the students. The principal provides real presence for his students. He is consistant, polite, firm, and fair. The guidance counsellor, secretary, and teachers I don't even know yet are also wonderful. There is an anti-bullying program and infractions are dealt with promptly at school. Test scores are low but many students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes with generational poverty issues. Staff works to help students overcome those difficulties first so academic learning can take place. Our son is challenged to think and learn daily at school and he scores well on PSSAs thanks to Musser staff.
What a comprehensive emplacement to grow and learn! The academics are geared toward all learning levels, extra curricular activities are numerous and available to all. Finally, the level of parent involvement is what parents make it to be. I am very involved and receive excellent and prompt feedback from teachers.
