Maple Ridge does an outstanding job of educating the K-2 students that call its halls and classrooms home. What makes it especially unique in the world of today is the geniune and caring focus that I see firsthand that the faculty and staff have towards the students. They are passionate and dedicated in what they teach and constantly give feedback and encouragement at every turn. Getting young minds off on the right path is a huge responsilbility and one that they take most seriously. Personally, I like to see how well they work together and the positive outlook they exude at all times! I've witnessed instances of extra effort and extreme patience far beyond the norm. It sounds kinda corny, but they've managed to keep a laid back, small town charm - like Mayberry of old, while still focusing on skills our youngsters will be needing to survive and prosper for the 21st century. I believe a visit there in-person and you'll be sold on Maple Ridge as an ideal school for any youngter....

From what I've seen of this school the teacher's only want to teach certin children in their class'es if they encounter a child that need's some help in class they dont want that child in their class. They do everything they can to get rid of that child because they dont want o take the time to teach them. These teachers are the highest pay'ed in the county and their always sending note home asking you to please donate stuff to the school, what are all of our tax dollors going for if they cant even bye simple stuff for the classroom? My child loves going to school but it seems that his teacher really doesnt want to be there teaching he/she seems to only want to be there to colect a pay check.

The teachers at this school are outstanding! The children are challenged and nurtured. How fortunate we are to have such a fine school!

As a parent of a child that attends this school. My child just finished 2nd grade. My child is well advanced and the school system does not do any thing with him/her to help with harder things to do. He/she comes home with color by number for advanced classes. I suggested that the teacher does multiplaction tables with them but they don't learn that till 3rd. I feel if they are in advanced the child should do advanced things. The teachers themselves I don't feel teaches the child anything all they worry about is them selves. I feel Somerset is not a good school system.
